hope the stuff with the neighbours sorts itself out mw - Im sure it will when everything gets fixed ..
well done on the comp wins- ah now I understand what the whole walkers rainy day thing is! :rotfl:
hope you have a relaxing couple of nights.... cuppa's and tv box sets perhaps? ...;)0 -
Yes, the sadness is affecting me physically, have got a bit of a sore tummy today. But as tyo and CathT said, with time hopefully everything should get back to normal with the neighbours.
DD has hospital appointment today so got an extra hour and a half lie in :j. Couldn't get a decent time, so is slap bang in the middle of the day. Don't know whether to take her to school and after school club for a few hours, or just take her into work. It will save me an hour travelling, and £7.50 in childcare!
Couldn't find the jeans I want on ebayam going to have to spend more time trawling it to see if there are any decent compromises. I hate buying clothes without trying them on first (unless it is a jumble sale and I'm only paying 30p for it!).
Last night we settled on the windows for the rear of the house, and the new back door. Tonight we need to order our radiators for the downstairs. Am thinking of splashing out on a vintage looking cast iron one for the dining room.
Still need to get something for sister's 40th ! AM thinking of trying some fancy crafty shops near work later/tomorrow.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

You should try New Look for jeans. £10 for bootlegs and £20 for most other styles.0

Hi museStill need to get something for sister's 40th !
Does she like doing crafty things then? Perhaps you could send her on a day course to do painting/jewerly making or something similar? I always like giving people things they can do like a spa voucher, paying for a meal out or going go karting! Just some thoughts for you.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Thanks for suggestion, I have however now ordered something from Etsy I think she will like:

I also have a little something I purchased a few weeks ago to give her when she comes up, and will wrap up a picture of the item on its way. Phew, am so glad that is sorted.
Stairs are now in, and extension looking great. Doing first electrical fit today, finishing first plumb and the roof too. Sorted out a radiator for the dining room last night - have splashed out and bought a cast iron repro georgian style one, in old penny.

Did manage to find a 5% off voucher code, and delivery is free, including taps came to just over £400 ! It is a feature for the room, the other one will be bog standard as is behind a sofa and can't be seen. Builder is going to see what price can get other one for.
We also agreed to get UPVC sashes for the extension, at an extra £350. I just hated the casements, and as we are putting wooden sash in rest of back of house, seemed the right compromise.
Saw neighbour last night and everything seems alright. The house is freezing as the insulation isn't in yet, DD was awake most of night with the noises coming from loft space!
Last night before OH awaywill miss him.

House a bombsite - electricians had to move wardrobes in our room, so have clothing now everywhere! They did try to put most of it back, but clearly not as adept as cramming a cupboard as I am :rotfl:!
Just spent £26 on food I hope should get me through the weekend. Decided to use slow cooker so can pick up sister and nephew, and bring them back here for dinner. We're eating out on Sat, and Friday evenings in London can be manic. I am knackered, and they'll have cases with them too. So just prepped an oxtail, carrot and prune stew for tomorrow, and have some hungarian sausages ready this evening. Done 10+ comps as well, second time this week.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

£17 spent from pocket money on lunch, plus coffee later, think that brings me to about £70 of pocket money for rest of month. Nothing in house, and feeling really tired so ham, egg and chips much needed - bought lunch for boss too as he often buys mine.
Meeting sis off train just before 6pm, oxtail stew smells gorgeous, just need to get some spuds and greens to go with. Still have a bottle of Asda sparkly in the fridge too. Dinner paid for by sister tomorrow night, and will do something cheap or free tomorrow during the day.
Have had 2 more entries to Walkers, not won anything further from them for last few days despite appalling weather!
OH gone nowbut shouldn't complain too much. Was texting friend last night, pregnant with her second. Her OH is a builder and has to travel loads for work. Now 130 miles away for 6 weeks, only gets to see him weekends and their own house building project has to be on hold for paid work!

The radiator sounds lovely! I can't wait to get rid of our horrible decor and redocorate when the babys a bit older (and we have the cash!)

Hello musey,
 to 4 years worth of clothes challenge on a radiator - but it is lovely. Reminds me of the enormous black ones we had at my old school. They were rubbish at giving out any heat though.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend, & the stew sounds lovely

Hello both, and thanks so much for posting. earthgirl - hope earthlet is doing well, and you are getting some rest inbetween tutoring?
Lula-Hula - four years of clothes for one radiator :eek::eek:! Does that mean I can't buy any more clothes until 2015??? I think I might die if that were the case... mind you with my soon to be warm dining room I can just sit around naked anywayI hope therefore that it is more effective than your school ones. Stew was fab, very sweet and will definitely definitely make again. Really took the pressure off not having to cook after picking them up.
Have had absolutely fabulous day with sis and nephew. Lazy morning at home, followed by walk through city and mooch at Tate Modern. Underwhelmed by the turbine hall installation, I think not being able to walk on it is losing a lot of its interactive appeal and awesome potential. Looked at Xmas lights in the West End - Carnaby Street ones are very fun! Walked past Abercrombie and Fitch - there are massive queues and practically naked men there  one of them had a chest so toned I was a bit scared and thought I might vomit! Had private dining room in japanese restaurant in west end, the food was AMAZING, so fresh, all paid for and had tokens for free drinks, so nothing spent there. Spent £20 on drinks before and after, which on a big night out I think is pretty good.
Have also spent £40 of pocket money on evening out in January, had to pay and book now, am owed half of it back for place for friend but they won't give me til Dec... Not sure what to do, as now means I have £30 of pocket money left  although have good night out in Jan planned, and an extra £20 to look forward to in Dec!
Sis loved the presents I gave her :j. They are off just gone 11am tomorrow, so have rest of day to myself. Am going to write to do list so I feel I don't fritter the day away. Will be weird just being on my own as DD and OH are away and I never, ever, have time to myself.
