Yes, I saw the comment about the nursery curtains having insects on, does sound a bit scary!

Went to see doctor this morning before work, am convinced infection has not cleared up - pain in the lower back and bladder still, and not feeling well. What a pompous !!!!. Wouldn't test my sample with a stick for a quick indicator as 'that won't change what I'm going to do anyway'. Has been sent off for testing - most likely not know until Friday! The thought of going around with a potential kidney infection and feeling terrible until then threw me over the edge and I burst into tears at the reception desk. The receptionists were really sweet, gave me tissues and told me not to let him get to me.

Have swapped a second book through RISI, am so excited about getting books I really want in return for those I don't! OH did point out that wasn't really getting rid of stuff, but I'm in denial about that!

OH and I went through loft quote with a fine toothed comb yesterday, and have emailed back a list of questions to the builder, so that was good progress. Couldn't get to sleep for ages due to cramps :(, so another tired day at work. Luckily it is quiet in the office, and I have had coffee and sympathy from another colleague who has suffered from kidney infections in the past. Saying that, I have quite a lot on at work in the next few days, am giving a two hour tour of our museum store on Wednesday for the first time on my own , so need to prep for that.

OK, planning for this to be my last visit to MSE today (I think I am addicted though, will start getting the shakes soon! :rotfl:)

Need to focus on 1 hour box sorting, and then bed by 9.30. Early night needed as feel vv tired, and have a late evening focus group tomorrow after work. It is only the thought of £50 which is keeping me going! After doing maths last night looks like we're going to be about £2k short for loft development AFTER we add the next three months of savings, plus we will then have to pay for bedroom furniture, carpeting and decorating (2.5k more ?) - so every little bit extra will help. At this rate my mortgage is going nowhere!

I too am addicted...think I need to go to MFAnonymous soon.... I spend too much time on here I think....maybe due to the frustration of paying off the mortgage seeming like such a long term goal, I need constant reminders why Im doing it and that its possible! ;o)
sorry to hear you still arent feeling great, drs can be really unsympathetic at times, I hope you are on the mend soon ..I have only ever had a kidney infection once but I felt so unwell with it, didnt have a clue what it was at first !
re: the loft does it need to be a living space immediately or have you got time to do some of the decorating/furniture purchasing over time? like we were saying before it will definitely add value/space/quality of life to your home so maybe seeing it like that would help? plus it would cost more to move to a house with an extra room!

*stands up, clears throat nervously* 'my name's museumworker, and I'm addicted to MSE forums' *everybody claps, sits down feeling a bit hot and flushed* :o

Not sure what the next steps would be?

tyo - yes, kidney infections are gruesome. I think the antibiotics have helped enough for me to get back to work, but not enough to clear it. We will wait and see. We don't need to do the room straight away in terms of furniture - we are considering letting it in the new year, but if it did stand empty for a month or two it wouldn't be the end of the earth. Plus that gives us a bit of time to shop around on ebay, and potentially save some money that way. I am also one of those people who likes things done straight away though.

CathT - you can join us in our MFAnonymous club too!

Day 7 of 100 day challenge

no idea what next step would be....maybe limiting MF activity to once a day ?...hmmm...not sure I could cut down to that! ;o)
well done on the challenge and the recycling and the early night!, hope you feel back to normal soon
re: the loft thats good it can be done in steps- frustrating tho if you are like me wanting everything done like *yesterday*! but at least takes the pressure off a bit
