I had to declare a load of stuff 'unknown virus like meningitis' and it was refered to doctors, but price didn't rise, I think its just a formality.. fingers crossed for you.
We got a joint quote so only had to pay the fee once - could that save you money?
Well done one day 3!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

I've decided to go for 2 separate policies... basically on a joint if one of us dies, payment is made and then the policy ends. With a single each (god forbid) if one of us was to die, and then the other, we would have 2 payments - one to pay off mortgage, and another to provide for children. Plus if we were to separate should be easier to ensure funds go where desired (cheery thoughts these!). Essentially we are purchasing twice as much life cover (£250k x 2) for a little bit extra. Two single policies cost an extra £2 a month over joint policy, plus the £35 fee. I hope this is the right decision to make!
Glad to hear medical declaration didn't up your premium, here's hoping.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Will attempt to get to work today  not sure how much I'll manage whilst I'm there though! Still not feeling great. DD and MIL are having quiet day in the house today, so figure work will be the most restful place for me!
We all ended up taking MIL and DD out to a local Turkish last night as treat, she was very sweet and didn't want me staying in on my own so we picked somewhere more local. Almost killed me walking there though. Had lots to eat, bits of everything - came to £33.00, plus £7 in local ice-cream shop on way home (DD was eyeing up the £5.50 sundaes in the restaurant, but was happy with the MASSIVE chocolate ice-cream with chocolate sauce she got instead for £1.75)
OH not happy I went ahead with ordering (my own) life insurance, despite nagging me for ages to get it done. Thinks we should have talked it through first - we HAVE talked level of cover etc before so I thought it was just time for action! Oops.

Sounds horrible - hope you are fully recovered? Unknown things are often the worst as they can't really be treated. I had an unknown virus for 2 months this year, wasn't that bad but did wipe me out the whole time. Sure the doctor thought I was a bit of a hypochondriac as kept going back for tests!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Managed to not only get to work, but stay there all day too :j. Not sure how I much I achieved
... actually, I had a really good day. After some training with volunteers they wanted to document something for practice, so out came my favourite set of photographs which are crying out for somebody to work on them. They ended up staying all day, and really enjoyed it - as that means less for me to do too, smiles
:D:D all round. Nice to feel that you've helped people learn something new too.
Went out for lunch with dear friend, had good heart to heart over egg, chips and beans and doctor pepper, much needed and meant I could get through the rest of the afternoon too. £4 spent.
Got paid today:D:D, transferred to joint account minus pocket money and travel loan, and just waiting for it to land so can transfer some to savings.
Bought a 10p Star to get the £5 off Lidl voucher - I need (I mean NEED) a bottle of their gin, and am thinking with a bit of planning I could spend £35 there, and stretch everything in the house for 2-3 weeks... hmmm....
ETA: Also, had a load of books at work on a 'freebies' table - everyone else has been helping themselves this week, so only stuff no-one else wants. Asked if they wanted me to take them off their hands - which they did! Now have 10 books to list on Amazon, checked one and it was £35 :j, doubt they'll all be worth that, and will probably take forever to sell, but nonetheless, is something for nothing. Will give donation to work from any profits made. Kept them at work so as to not clutter the house ....
Day 4 of challenge - nothing chucked out as yet, will have to work extra hard this weekend.
Came home, made Kedgeree and played board games and crossword with DD and MIL. Now MIL watching Big Brother, and I get to go online guilt free. She is off tomorrow, plans for the weekend include:
* Food shop - Lidl more than likely
* Allotment for OH
* Visit Bath Store to take a look at bathroom fittings for the loft
* Visit FIL , step-MIL and random dog they are looking after
* Friend's 10th wedding anniversary party (not sure what to get them??)
* Friend's birthday gallery visit (not sure what to get her?? OH wants to get her something REALLY SPECIAL as she got him something great for his birthday, but as we haven't got it yet, means it'll probably cost a fortune.)
* clear some things out of loft
* get office set up again now MIL gone
* house blessings
Gosh, am feeling tired just thinking about it..:rotfl: think I will have to drop a few things and try and get some rest so am better for next week. I am the only person from my department in the office then, so need to NOT be ill!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Goodness, yea that sounds like far too much for someone who is recovering! Take it easy!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

hey mw
ditto what earth girl says try and take it easy and get better first !!!
sounds like you have an awful lot of plates spinning ..
aw sometimes good food with a good friend is just what you need , glad you had a nice day, and now the weekend hurrah!0 -
Yes, I realised as I was typing it that it was way, way too much. Spoke to OH, and as it is raining here he won't be going to allotment (needed to cut grass, and can't do that in rain).
We'll do shop together (and get DD's haircut, I can hardly see her under all that hair!), look at Bathstore and have party tonight. It is local, so I can walk back if I don't feel up to it.
Tomorrow, we are going to drop out of friend's birthday gallery visit, and OH is going to take DD to FIL's on their own. I can have a rest, and deal with some boxes.
Best news - MIL has now gone :j:j:, with lots of smiles, she really enjoyed her week here with DD. I however feel like a mean sourpuss for getting wound up. I think being ill made it harder to cope.
Have done my first swap on RISI, will post it today. Have trashy girls novel, looking forward to itMortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Did shop yesterday, spent £32 in Lidl after the voucher (and got my gin, most importantly
) and £12 in the turkish shop on lots of fresh fruit and veg. Think we might be able to stretch this quite far, £44 for the week's shop is very good
.
Bought an LSA vase new in box from charity shop for £6.99, and wrapped it up for friend's present. Bought a second one may use as wedding gift in September :j. OH really wants to keep it, but we do already own about 5 vases!
DD was playing up quite a bit, I think she is exhausted. Cue pep talk, and promise of ice cream and half an hour of playing ball together in return for good behaviour. Result: a totally changed child!
Visited bath$tore, and must say, I was not that impressed, I think it is very overpriced. They have a headline sale rate of 70% off, but nothing in the sale would work in our tiny en suite, and their standard prices are very high. £400 for a mixer tap for the shower! Popped into Wickes too, much more reasonably priced, and think we can get the shower and toilet from there. Admittedly, I didn't like their cloakroom sink range, so might have to get that elsewhere (I did like a £129 one in Bath$tore). But at least we know there is no rush to get something - once we have the right dimensions from the builder we can make a final decision.
Wore new maxi dress to friend's party, and had a few compliments, including that I looked really slim, which is always good to hear! The party was great, had brought in argentian bbq'ers, and had a bar man with lots of cocktails and drinks. Having read the insert in the antibiotics packet, it didn't mention not drinking, so I threw caution to the wind and had a couple of pimms, and a mojito. Had a lovely time and was great to be there.
However I now feel SHATTERED, so definitely not going to FIL or gallery this afternoon. Have made my apologies. Loft hatch has been left open for me, and I plan to catch up on my 100 day challenge by sorting out at least 30 things, more will put me ahead of schedule. Will do at slow and relaxing pace...Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
