    - DD has taken a liking to my kabuki brush and having seen jo frost's extreme parenting where she used a brush and sponge to stop thumb sucking I think it will be worth getting.

How does this work? DD is a thumb sucker and I have no idea how she will ever stop!

It was for distraction and to replace the comfort from the thumb sucking. The girls had big soft make up brushes and bathroom sponges to stroke with and it worked for them. Sadly it's gone from 4 on demand but from memory that's what she said.

Your ideas sound great - I like the little steps to achieve your dream, you are so determined, you will get there.

I am sure you and OH will come to a compromise. I sometimes find I am a dreamer, and my oh has to point our the impracticalities in my plans, before we reach some sort of proper plan. I know what you mean though, I feel its important to have a real 'dream' to picture and work towards.

I can ask around up here for the Cwrs Mynediad, but it would probably be North Wales, but I can try!

Have started by asking the Welsh dept at work, fingers crossed.

  • Hugs mw , I second what eg said about compromising ....I often have all kinds of high flying ideas that mrtyo has to bring me back to the ground about! ;) not that your dream is unreasonable or unachievable but sounds like for you both its about balance of where you both want to be in your life and the opportunities you want...as toots said, our imagination of where our life will be in 5 or 10 years is rarely how it turns out- if you had told me 7 or 8 yrs ago I would be in anywhere like the position I am today ( in a good way! :) ) I never would have believed it ...so much can change and as you get more financially secure I think that changes things too and makes things feel less risky/daunting ...

I may have a slope over to the £10 a day challenge as need to get back on the moneymaking/saving if poss in the run up to xmas! Not sure what I can do to make extra money as not much left in the house to sell (other than my flat but thats slightly different!!) ... will have a nose tho and see if I get any ideas!!

welsh classes sound great- as do the charity shop bargains! :)

As I thought the only Cwrs Mynediad I can locate is the North Wales edition, sorry!!

  • toots - there is a lot of truth in what you say. My priorities are OH and DD - and my health. BUT I am so stressed by the life we lead I know that moving away will be what changes it forever - and the sooner the better. If I thought what I was doing was compromising our 'now' life beyond an acceptable amount I would stop the MF dream. however, I think what I want in the future and what I want now are not mutually incompatible.

eg - you're a real sweetie, thanks so much for checking re: the book. Hopefully I will get a cheap one, if not I will just order one full price.

Completely smashed after night out with friend over from New Zealand. I love her to bits and so glad we are having time together. Will write more coherent post another time ;).

  • Quick update:
    • £2.90 received in tfl refunds
    • Ordered on body shop glitch yesterday - £11.30 for 3 vit c radiance mixes (normally £13 each), 1 £5 love your body card, buriti baby massage gel, bar of shea soup and a total energy uplifting spritz. details on the grabbit form, but should get 5 presents, or parts of presents out of this, and £5 voucher to spend! My sister loves the vit c stuff.
    • Spent £15 from pocket money on night out.
    • have joined the london welsh centre - £55 pa
    • have dropped off £125 cheque for year's welsh classes

OH looking to buy a bike for me for my bday next month, budget about £350. Thinking of the specialized vita, if anyone knows anything about bikes please feel free to comment! Is a ladies hybrid bike, quite lightweight but well made.

  • Hey mw
bike sounds cool - no ideas about them Im afraid havent ridden a bike since I was about 9!! ;)
Well done on grabbits I also got some bodyshop stuff tho not convinced I actually needed any of it, got some vit c microdermabrasion which I thought I may nab for diy facials and the rest can go as presents! ...to someone!....
I hear ya on wanting out of the london way of life...its expensive and theres a hamster wheel feeling at times of work to pay for living rather than something a bit more balanced!... There's an assumption there that that was what you were getting at so correct me if Im wrong!..How does OH feel about it, is he stressed in the same way you are or is there anything else that could help in the interim to take the load off?
Good luck at the welsh classes when is your first one?
