How do you know she wont get a job when he moves in, as I read it the benefits are to tied them over.I am a tax payer as well she can use my tax money for her benefits until they are sorted out, OH gets better, she gets a job etc etc etc.

Assumption? No mention from OP of wanting to work - in fact, she despises the fact that her children may have to go to childcare - a plain fact for the majority of us who choose to work and support our children.

Her OH has only been off work for 3 months and intends to go back as soon as he is well enough so then they will not be claiming as much in benefits and once he moves in the benefits agency will be saving money.
By the way some of you are obviously quite well off have you told the family allowance you dont want it after all you dont need it do you.

LOL - you might want to think before you say things like that! Family Benefit? No, I do get that for my children who qualify for it - because having been resident and paying taxes in Canada for years, there is a reciprocal agreement between the two countries that I qualified for it here upon arrival, just as somebody in the same situation here would qualify for that portion of the tax credits in Canada upon arrival. However, with the Child Tax Fund - Yes, I did notify them that i didn't want it - didn't feel my son was entitled to it as he was born in Canada, and moved here when he was just three months old. I never sent in the paperwork to any fund to get it opened, so the government went and opened one with their designated provider anyway. What a waste that was on the governments part, wasn't worth half of it's original value after the first year! So yes, I have notified a department that I do not wish to receive one of their benefits, but as I claimed child benefit, they would not accept that.

My children's 'trust fund' has always been made up of their family benefits monies.

    Any more questions smartass?

ETA: No I don't NEED my children's family benefit - it is theirs :) I manage providing the basics for them out of my wage thank you. Hardly 'well off' though, just budget conscious and hard working.

Okay tinkerbell - yes I see that - she has said she will 'happily get a job when her youngest starts school'......however,her youngest is now 2 years old, her partner is moving in in what, a month? So, to answer the question 'how do you know she won't get a job when her OH moves in', well, she won't will she? There will be a few years between the two events happening, if at all.

ETA: Sorry TB - just noted that you are pointing Trinity's post out to PoppyOscar.... - duh! Must get back to work :)

Maybe you would so kind and show us exactly where the Op has said her "partner" has been off work for three months?

    Because she has told me.

I do not make assumptions about people.

Some of you are showing just what kind of people you are with your comments "smartass" "Scummy council House" "window lickers" against anyone who dares to disagree with you.
