I am pretty gobsmacked. I remember Man on the Moon's similar post pretty well, and remember how well supported he was in his assertion that his daughter had done nothing wrong. This wouldn't be because he was articulate and apparently well educated, whilst this OP is not so great with her grammar and explainations. would it? Many of you jumped in to say that her child is a brat, she is a scummy mother, and its no wonder her child has gotten that poor teacher into trouble. Shame on the lot of you.

I agree, the story is a bit confused, but it is possible that the teacher was/is a nutter, did follow the child round the school, and did grab him by the throat. HE has no right to touch a child, and deserves to be in trouble if he did. The child should also be dealt with in an appropriate manner, if they have been disruptive and disrespectful.

But being well educated, articulate and able to use correct grammar are often the distinguishing factors :)

so there aren't any well educated, articulate and grammatically correct yobs out there????????????

I understand the OP was upset when posting, which can affect your typing and grammar skills, and I too, have thought people unfair in the way they assumed that the OPs child MUST have done something! as this is a forum and we only get one side of a situation, we can only advise on what we are told. to me, its not up to us to INVENT an alternative scenario!
hope the OP gets it all sorted out! I think both the teacher and pupil should be suspended from school until the facts are ascertained!

Doesn't mean she and her son are not telling the truth though.

Sorry got interrupted, and ended up cross posting with meritaten.
