I wrote this poem a while ago, thought you might like to read it. I was in work at the time on a busy Sat night and very eager to leave...
I’m sitting here in work
bored out of my brain.
The phone wont stop ringing
and the customers are insane.
The only thing on my mind
is going home to bed
but I don't leave for 3 hours yet
so I’m stuck in here instead.
Every single phone call
a customer screams at me -
"IM COLD AND WET AND BEEN HERE AGES
WHERE THE HELL IS MY TAXI?"
I try to placate them
but they don't want to know
they just shout and moan and swear
and I’ve still got 2 hours to go
The drivers are not helping
they're causing problems of their own
they take so long to pick up
and jump from zone to zone.
They really are quite useless
they don't know where things are
I've only got one hour to go
but it just seems too far
I'm so fed up and tired
I wish this shift would end
my colleagues are driving me mad
I'm going round the bend
I think the clock is broken
its moving way too slow
wait a minute, oh my God

LOL - like the ending of your poem!
Good news on the payrise and also that you got your wages that time.
Oh dear re: friend though. It does sound like this one needs chalking up to experience. As my Mum used to say "Never a lender or borrower be".
Well I got the first bit right................!
Messed up the second bit big time! :rotfl:Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Oh and good luck with the push to reach 16 stone.
Get some exercise - any exercise that you can over & above whatever you are doing now. Even if it means dancing around your living room or running on the spot! It will help.
Do you drink lots of water too? Tis good for fat burning!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hey all, just a quick note as I managed to snag my bro's PC for a bit while he's watching the football match.
Holiday is going very well, if expensive, so far. I've already spent more than I planned, but I think I'm allowed to let my hair down once in a while, I have been working hard for it after all.
So far I've spent £75 on a chinese take-away last night, lunch out today, various drinks and my bros birthday money.
I also paid £74 on my credit card this morning before getting out of bed, this was on behalf of my step-dad as he doesn't have a credit card, I'll get the money back for this as soon as the PO can get thru the damn strikes!
We're having a few drinks out tonight, and tomorrow we have a meal out planned for the birthday boy. Me and his girlfriend will split the bill for this, so should be roughly about £30 each. Then a few more drinks after!
Well I better get back to the drinking!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Well my half of the meal came to £37.35, a little more than the £30 I was guessing, but it was worth every penny. It was gorgeous! Fantastic italian food.
Got home today about 7pm, and popped to Asda as I had literally NO food in the house. It's sad but I'm feeling smug I managed to get 18 free range eggs for 77p! Was um-ing and ah-ing about getting some beers for the remainder of my hol, decided against it as now I really need to rein in the pennies, got home and found 2 cans in the fridge! So result!
