Ah - Mr (or Mrs) Know-it-all returns! Do you make it your mission to try to provoke an arguement in every post you make? I'm sure Morgan-Ree is capable responding themselves without such a bitter person acting as their spokesperson.

Anyway, in answer to your questions.... I have got the guys I need and have talked things through with the job centre plus people - thanks for your concern!

So I take it you'll be making a post in praise of the (very cheap) Job Centre Plus then?

Driver8 has got it spot on! It is well recognised that the benefits system is abused by the scroungers. Something must be done to force, not encourage, people to contribute to society like the rest of us. Just look at today's announcement about capping housing benefit at £400 per week. Why the hell are we paying £1600+ per month to one family just for housing? Add to that everything else they can get their hands on and reductions on council tax etc - no wonder they don't want to work when it is all on a plate for them!
The system should be there to support those who need it not those who know how to play the system.

If there were more council houses like there were years ago then people wouldnt have to rely on private housing.
Its the greedy homeowners that are raping the tax payer by charging so much rent.
The LA's also make it worse as they publish the maximum ammount they will pay for a certain property so the owner charges maximum rent.
A £400 week house sounds all very nice but in reality it will probably be in a state of disrepair but in a "good" area.

How many "workers" have houses on a buy to let mortgage?
Its the taxpayer that is buying their houses for them.
    Is that not also wrong?

Back again then? Like a dose of the sh*ts - just when you think the problem's gone away.....

Why don't you make a useful contribution? Start by explaining what you actually mean by this? Or maybe you have some more valuable business tips to offer?

Yep, it's all part of the system that is wrong. We are all conditioned to 'own' houses which has created a cycle of greed - banks have lent cash too easily to people with, usually, small deposits which has helped to create greedy landlords. If councils had build houses to replace those that were sold off then there won't have been a market for private rentals

What sort of workers were you looking for?

I know someone that posted a job advert in a college and had over 100 applicants so quite a lot do obviously want to work.
  • Not everyone on Jsa are scroungers and it really really gets on my nerves when most people stereotype the genuine jsa claimants as scroungers:mad:

I have been on and off claiming for over 15 months, i lost 2 jobs when woolies went down the pan! and applied for hundreds of jobs, i eventually got one last year who gained grants and bursaries and the day after they gained them (i had been there about 6 weeks) i got sacked! no fault of my own they got rid of me i had no leg to stand on as i was in a probationary period!

the ammount of hastle i had trying to sign back on was rediculous, hence y most job seekers unless there is the real chance of alternate employment at the end of the fixed term wont look at temp or fixed term jobs!

Now im back on jsa im on the new deal programme (which the condems are going to scrap!) im in a work placement doing 30hrs+ per week working as an admin assistant and they are on about taking me on! this a is valuable programme which doesnt cost extra on jsa and is more beneficial than what the condems are planning i.e making us sweep the streets! at the moment a lot of jsa claimants are gaining employment through these work placements!

living off £60 per week when you are used to earning double / triple that is no easy life i hate every minute of being on jsa!

villabadger work training providers struggle to find work placements for clients and many of them have cscs cards and experience why dont you contact the jobcentre plus and ask what work training provider they send their new deal clients on IAP WEP or VSO to, they would probably appreciate the placements to send clients too! and you would get people to fill your positions, with no cost to yourself unless you decide to take them on! although you still get clients not interested in working and know how to work the system there are true gems to be found by these work placements!

I live in the real world son. I am far from silly.

You are a liberal lefty who has no idea what goes on in the real world.

    DH

Liberals and lefties are two different things though. Libs are definitely not left wing, and neither is the Labour Party for that matter.

Lol :) Fun times reading this thread! Sounds like the applicants were just running the system. I believe they have to claim for x number of jobs per month or they loose their benefit. A recent program on TV showed a group of JSA claimants who were given jobs done by immigrants for a week, the tv company first of all found it hard to get applicants. This despite the fact that the town had a massive unemployment rate. The people that did do it turned out for the most part to be complete wasters. This is why people on JSA get a bad rep, because so many of them really do not want a job.

My dad is unemployed and has applied for hundreds of jobs at whatever salary they offer including minimum wage, so the argument does go both ways. People that really do want to work need to be helped, and those that don't should get nothing. Personally I would stop giving out money and give out food vouchers along with vouchers for things like electricity etc.

What is worrying is the emergence of a sub-culture, whereby an unemployed couple have children who see never working as the norm. They then have children very young -after all you have plenty of time on your hands when you do not have to go to work.
These children see their parents and grandparents have never worked and take this for normal, and have children very young who........

I see a subculture developing with people who have no manners, social skills, motivation or conversational ability. They don't have the skills, they can't be bothered to teach their children right from wrong, and so it goes on. This to me is more worrying than the fact they're on benefits because their behaviour is having a detrimental affect on so many schools and neighourhoods. And why would employers want to hire people like these?

The estate were i live most of them don't work and probably never have, and it pi£ses me right off, houses payed for by us workers/taxpayers, while the benefit scrounging scum just seem to have kids to get more benefits, they should put a cap on how many kids they can have why should the taxpayer pay for them ? Why have kids if you cant afford to have them !

I'm sick of coming home from work and there all sat out side having a BBQ and drinking till 3 in the morning every night !!!
