Does anyone know when this will come into effect?

Any links relating specifically to housing benefit/LHA?
    Thanks

Even though London does have high populations of certain ethnic minorities in specific areas it doesn't have ghettos because these areas include both high and low income households. For many years it has been a deliberate policy to encourage a mix of households over a wider area (e.g. forcing developers to include social housing / community amenities in new developments). There is a danger that this new policy will go some way to reversing that.

I was having a look through the full Budget Report and on page 48 point number 2.54 it said

"HB awards will be reduced to 90 per cent of the initial reward after 12 months for claimants receiving Jobseekers Allowance. This will be introduced in April 2013 (33) "

:eek::mad::mad: now maybe Im thick but does that mean if in 2013 I was on JSA and received HB and it paid my full rent and then 12months later I would have to find 10% to make it back up???

Im just asking for clarification if I have read this correct as I would be interested to know as I have been watching the Budget coverage today and have not heard this little point 2.54 on page 48 of the Budget Report being picked up on , have I got this wrong?

    Many thanks...

The comments on this thread are exactly why I no longer post on MSE (after two months of posting I think).., too many people with stereotypical views.., and very little knowledge of the situation they are making judgemental comments on. My son was 8 before investigations were started to find out why he had difficulties .,. He was 11 when diagnosed with ASD. Perhaps we should all leave an 8 or 10 year gap inbetween children just in case they develop a problem. I have to stay at home to take care of him and now it looks like there will be even less money.

Off I go again, original impressions thoroughly confirmed.

I agree 100%. People are so insecure that they feel the need to come on an internet forum and make uneducated judgements; sad immature people.

Surely you would have been at home already before an investigation began at age 8?

Not aimed at your situation - there are far too many labels these days for different disabilities with the numbers increasing each year. Medicals for former IB and proposed ones for DLA will no doubt result in some of the less needy cases retaining their benefits while more needy cases will be thrown onto JSA.

Yes only eligable for a 2 bed property as their children are the same sex.

Kids only 'qualify' for their own rooms if the parents can afford a house/flat/bungalow that accomadates that! A room for each child is not a right, unless they are different sexes, and then it depends on the HA if they are renting with one?!

DLA has nothing to do with JSA.
