Have never got in to my head how I can get £90.00 per week DLA when I have no outgoing due to my health.
Erm if you don't have any costs incurred by your condition why did you apply for it to begin with? Just because you have a condition does not mean you should claim for DLA. It's if it impacts your life so you need help in some way through mobility or care needs.

I and others that I know only applied for DLA because of the extra costs of our conditions. We rely on the DLA we get to actually help us with things to do with our conditions.

If you don't need the DLA you get then don't claim it.

You really do talk twaddle! Grow out of autism! What planet are you living on. Autism and it's many variations are a lifelong condition. People or their carers may learn to manage the condition better but that does not mean they are no longer Autistic.

Dont tell me you also believe an amputee can grow new limbs or a life long quadriplegic can learn to walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saying ridiculous things like an amputee can grow back a limb just shows how idiotic and narrowminded some people can be.
Why not take some time to actually do research to find the information instead of speaking before thinking?
Some children have variations in Autism that they will grow out of.

With good reason - they rely on that money for their independence because of the obstacles that society put in their way - you only have to take a cursory glance at this thread to see the level of ignorance that people with genuine disabilities have to face on a day to day basis.
You only need to take a cursory glance too, it seems, to see the staggering amount of vitrol coming from the claimants or family members.
Perhaps 'society' as a whole may be a little more supportive of their needs if they weren't so rude to people with opposing opinions.

You mean ignorant, judgemental people who have no idea what they're talking about and think they know more about the disabled persons' needs than the disabled person?

This is taxpayers money that is handed out and it behoves any responsible government to ensure that best value for that money is obtained.

Whether DLA claimants like it or not the government will decide how the available funds shall be allocated. And hopefully there will be a lot fewer highly publicised prosecutions of cheats who have slipped through in part because there are no independent medical checks on claimants.

Couldn't agree with you more. But that doesn't mean that giving disabled people money to help with the additional costs they face isn't cost effective. Neither does it mean that conducting a medical on someone who is permanently and substantially disabled with no possible chance of improvement isn't a criminal waste of money.

    FUN QUESTION...

Shall we suggest that Child Benefit gets paid direct to Children's Social Services and that parents should apply to central purchasing to obtain nappies, cream and wipes and everything else that can be proven to be a legitimate child related cost?

Not really as it is being phased out gradually anyway.
