Re. DLA being channelled into extra therapy as I saw from a quote from someone on my ignore list - what therapy!?
Seriously, the MH treatment waiting list in my area is 18 months, and even then, therapies are the most difficult form of treatment to access.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

Surely that would improve if more money was put into it?0 -
To me it makes much more sense if I can access them by buying them for myself. Perhaps for people with more stable or predictable needs, the direct supply of goods would work better.
I also think that people are worried about their future, even though it is quite far into the future, because if their DLA is cut and they cannot work then there is nothing thet can do to earn more money.
Imagine being on a very limited income and looking at a future where that limited income may be cut and knowing that you cannot get a job. People are looking at a future where they may have to choose between food and incontenece products.
Hello,
You should speak to your community nurse, they will arrange a prescription for both incontinence products and also bibs. They are delivered to your home every 13 weeks. You do not have to pay for any of these products from your DLA money, they are free.0 -

I'm sure it would, but I very much doubt that is where the money would go.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

Surely it would be more beneficial to spend the money on treatment, but how many DLA claimants on mental health grounds would be willing to give up their payments in return for therapy sessions?0 -

If they could be sure of getting the sessions the take up might be quite high. But the problem is usually that funding disappears between the pain and the gain - like road tax and potholes...Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
