You make it sound so simple! It's not!
ETA: Some do have extra costs. What money would they use for that?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

So you would be in favour of a more expensive and less flexible system simply because a minority are irresponsible?
You do remind me of more than one person in my own family who proudly boasts of having 'done the right thing' all their life whilst obviously feeling very bitter that everyone else has had more fun.
P.S.
I actually agree with you about Child Benefit. I know the arguments for providing a benefit that goes direct to the mother (or parent with care) that isn't means tested but now that there is the means tested Child Tax Credits I feel the money could be better targetted.Eat food. My reasons for saying this are that the government keeps throwing money at parents to reduce "child poverty" but the children who are living in impoverished situations are those of the parents who behave irresponsibly. This means that just handing out more money makes very little difference to the lives of the children it's supposed to be helping.
And, by the way, I am not bitter about anything and have never done "the right thing " in my life; if had I might be financially better off now! (But I have certainly had lots of fun and still do to this day!)0 -
if only it was that simple not everyone can have therpy stright of i was sexually assalted i have no trust in no one that was 5 years ago iam i over it no, iam i ready to talk about it yet no, why because i no how far it would send me backwards so then what the money is gone and nothing is there to help me then
There are many therapies that do not involve talking about your experiences.0 -

Of course I don't need DLA. I was merely pointing out that I do use taxis, have medication and have microwaved meals or takeaways when I can't be bothered to cook. Exactly the same as sh1305 in fact0 -

Because sexual abuse can lead to mental health problems. MH problems may mean someone has difficulties in cooking a meal, they may need someone with them to ensure they're safe, etc.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

But is the medication long-term? I've been on medication since January (although have to keep changing it) and I am unlikely to get better.
Not being bothered to cook is different to not having the energy to cook.
I use taxis because I have no choice. I have no sense of direction and need constant supervision outside. I am unable to use the buses to travel to & from the hospital. (because they don't stop there)Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
