If for some reason money doesn't go in the bank then we go without simple! a few weeks ago we had a giro come on a saturday morning, it wasn't cashable at our nominated PO we couldn't find out where to get it cashed, what a fab weekend that was. Unfortunatly if you are on benefits you are always at someones mercy, it goes with the terrority

Can someone please explain what this means in the budget???
There will be changes to the income levels (thresholds) and withdrawal rates for claiming Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit from April 2011. These include:
- raising the second withdrawal rate (the amount taken off your tax credit entitlements depending on your income) to 41% from 6.67%

Well, sorry to be harsh, but you should have.... you'll just have to sit there without the lights on tonight, your little bellies rumbling, while you think about how to budget effectively.
If I were getting my £65 JSA/week I'd only be spending what was "mine to spend", so that means after basic bills. It's summer too ... less money needed for heating.
What did you do with last fortnight's money?0 -

Ok if you must be paid by Giro, but I wouldn't trust the postman - mine here in Edinburgh is a stuttering, gibbering, english-as-a-foreign-language idiot.
He's too dumb to steal a giro, but he'd lose it alright.
My friends granny once found my brothers giro on the landing of her flat. It was raining so daftarse the posty "dropped" it to save going to the furthest away house on his round. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
