If you lived near me OP, I'd pop over with 4 packs of cheap noodles, couple of cans of beans, half a dozen eggs, loaf of bread and some spuds. That'd sort you out.

and then come on here when the giro is a day late!

I think we should all have a whip round to get the OP her precious giro money.

Makes me sick that I work and pay tax (makes me a sad panda that does but has to be done) and then others choose to live the life of riley on benefits :@

Couldn't put it simpler myself. However I do respect genuine curcumstances where one can't work for medical reasons etc.

I have lived on porridge and rice and lentils before when really skint, not appetising but I always had some in stock when I was a doley. Maybe spend a few quid on stuff like that to tide you over in the next emergency when your giro eventualy turns up.

  • The unexpected is one thing. The OP's unexpected is not getting her giro, so if she'd saved for the expected then that could have been used for her current unexpected. Therefore, in this case, this unexpected could have been budgeted for.

COULD have been budgetted for.... COULD get a job..... COULD win the lottery.... But where's the drama in "COULD". She said she was going to go postal on the jobcentres !!! tomorrow... would you deny her that entertainment?

Pinch one, then you'd have something to sell and the pious would leave you alone.
