My husband is on £12 an hour and thats 5 years of college on a crap wage as an apprentice, now he is a hgv mechanic, you will never get £12 an hour with no experience, i can see why ppl do not work tho, when they get more in welfare

Unbelieveable, not very aspiring are you.

Not really. Look at greedy MP earn more salary than us and deaf peoples, if we need enough to live on, it had to be £10-£12 an hour job and that's will be better life!

£5.80 an hour or less is no life at all! That's why I refuse it as it class as WORSE OFF, NOT BETTER OFF. Job centre can't do anything about it because the LAW say you must make sure you are BETTER OFF!!!!

    You can probably claim WTC.

You'd take home about £197 per week after tax and NI. No idea where you got £101 from?

You can't claim WTC if you work full times ?

I cannot afford to pay back in WTC if I made mistake from job income as I am disability. Like company do force me to do overtime work and mess up in WTC in a year time if overpayment. WTC is pointless.

Hasnt flights english improved a great deal since his locked argument in job center thread?

If your totally deaf you dont wear hearing aids because they are only amplifiers and dampners, I am severe/profoundly deaf and I worked till I became physically disabled and I still want to work if I can find something I can safely do.

The kids in a relatives class at school recently had a class reunion 10 years post leaving the specialist school for the deaf and he was showing me the book they got and everyone had written what they were now doing and most were in employment or education, they didnt assume the world owed them a living.

There were a couple of kids that didnt work/education and they both had very complex disabilities that including deafness.

I knew a family where both parents and one of their children were deaf.
Both parents worked as teachers (one in a deaf school, the other teaching BSL) and as far as I have heard, their deaf child got themselves a fairly reasonable job too.
There are some disabilities where working is impossible for the benefit recipient, but not all of them.
