    Hi Jackie,

I have added dried apricots to the recipe that I use and they worked well. Alternatively there are other recipes on this thread:

    Dried apricots

Is this the recipe for apricot scones?

    Pink

YES:j:j:j thank you so much brilliant:D I did try this recipe before, but lost it on my computer somewhere. Its lovely, I was wondering if I could make the scone mix and freeze half as I live alone and to cook a batch would mean me having to eat them all up and it wouldn't be too good for my waistline ( big enough now ) do you think it would freeze ok ??

Having gone through the cupboards today, we have found a phenomenal amount of meusli :rotfl:
The only person who eats it as a cereal though, is me :o and need to find a way of using it so that hubby and kids will eat to too...

I just wondered if anybody had ever turned it into flapjacks or how I could do this?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi

I have used musli in twinks and used twinks to make a traybake. Its very nice. If you do a search for twinks it will come up.

I have also used it in breakfast bars and fruit loaf.
  • There is a lovely recipe on here somewhere for granola bar/flapjacks. In fact, I made them yesterday again and had to put them in the freezer to stop myself from eating them. I'll go fin a link.

Here it is just replace the total amount of dry ingredients with the muesli. Bet they are lush!

  • Here you go

    Muesli Flapjack
    100g Margarine/Butter
    100g Dark Brown Sugar
    50g Honey
    100g Porridge Oats
    100g Muesli
Melt the margarine/butter with the honey and sugar.
Mix the muesli and porridge oats and add to the sugar mixture. Spread into an 18 x 18 cm greased baking dish. Bake at 375F/190C/Gas 5 for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Remove from the oven and mark into bars and leave to cool completely.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Just in case anyone was interested...

Muesli makes the most DIVINE flapjacks in the world!!!

My little ones love eating them which is so much better than everyone sticking their nose up at it when it was a cereal ;)

Only thing I'll be more aware of next time, is how I store them, because as time went on they went a bit overly soft (almost like some breakfast bars).

    Thanks for the recipes!!

    xx
  • Which one did you use? :)

Both...the lot were gone by mid-morning today  and there has been much complaining by little people :rotfl:
My personal preference is yours Jackie, but hubby and DD#1 prefer the honey version...littler ones didn't care and just kept coming back for more!!!

    Yumyumyum :D
  • :rotfl: although I can't claim the credit, I think it is actually Pink's :)
