Ok, so I have bought a box of BelVita breakfast biscuits, Fruit & Fibre. They are lovely!

So, I just though maybe I can make them myself? I enjoy baking and it would be great to have a batch in the oven once in a while, so we could enjoy one with coffee in the morning (I have a bowl of cereal/Greek yoghurt with fruit + coffee and a treat, be it a slice of toast/half bagel with jam or a biscuit)

So, does anyone have a recipe for something similar that they could share?

  • Have you tried Twinks' hobnobs? They're not exactly the same but are lovely and filling. I love the belvita biscuits but only buy them if they're on offer and am just as happy with my homemade hobnobs :-)

Are belvita biscuits sweet or savoury? I haven't tried them but are they like an oatcake meets fruit shortie? If you post the ingredients someone will probably be able to give you an idea for a recipe :)

They are sweet, a bit like oatcake, I would say. Crumbly, grainy (if that is a word).

Maybe try http://www.wholegraingourmet.com/recipes/43-cookies/58-healthy-oatmeal-cookies.html or swap the amounts of flour and oats? In the comments people have ditched the mollasses, swapped honey for sugar, used different dried fruit etc
The fig probably adds some sweetness but the honey or adding chopped dried figs/dates will replicate that, roll them thin to get the belvita shape(blobby cookies probably don't package well!). Try a small batch? What have you got to lose :)
