    Hi,

My DH loves the 'Eat Natural' cranberry/macadamias/dark chocolate cereal bars, but they are SO expensive. He is limited to the kind he can buy as he has a milk intolerance. The thing is, I would love to try to make these at home - or something similar... But no idea how! I have porridge type oats, light brown muscovada sugar and can get cranberries etc quite quickly.

Any idea where I can get a recipe, I am a novice at this! I am fine with cakes and thing like that, but have never made anything like this or even flap jacks!

    Pretty please??

I made some granola type bars from a receipe that was on the BBC Good Food website and they are delicious! They use oats, muscavado sugar, cranberries, nuts etc and they were very easy to make as well. Here's the link:

I've got this recipe, I think it came from on here somewhere

    Low Fat Cereal Bars

    1 cup rolled oats
    1 cup Rice Krispies
    2/3 cup chopped apricots
3 tbsp roasted sunflower seeds (I don't bother toasting them)
1/4 cup toasted coconut (I don't toast it)
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tbsp oil
    3 tbsp honey
    2 tbsp peanut butter
    1 tbsp vanilla extract

    1. Melt oil, honey, peanut butter in microwave just until easy to mix up, watch carefuly, probably 20 seconds or so.

    2. Mix in vanilla.

    3. Mix all ingredients together and press down well into 8" square tin.

    4. Bake at 350F/180C/gas4 for 20 minutes.

    Hi,

I would love to try the above recipe, but 'cups' mean nothing to me!!! Can someone convert this to oz or grams for me, please?!!

    Jenny :)

    Hi Jackie,

I have added dried apricots to the recipe that I use and they worked well. Alternatively there are other recipes on this thread:

    Dried apricots

Is this the recipe for apricot scones?
