Upset about dogs condition

I've just phoned the SSPCA again and the full report still isn't on their system, so they cant tell me if someone has actually seen the dog yet. They're now telling me to call back the middle of next week and the report should be through. It usually takes 7-10 days she said.
Keeping fingers crossed for a good outcome!
Will keep you all updated though and as soon as I hear whats happened I will let you all know.
I'm also going to take a drive round tonight to see if there's any sign of the dog and check he's ok.Every time life knocks me down, I just stay on the ground for a bit and look up at the sky for a while. Eventually I get up and have a cup of tea.0 -

I haven't a single good thing to say about the RSPCA and by the sounds of it the SSPCA run the same way.
Why does it take 7-10 days to go to a house and ensure a dog is being correctly cared for.
What's the bet when you do get the report they'll say something like they went around, the dog has water and they've given him two weeks/a month to make sure it has shelter and it's wounds are treated correctly by a vet.
God knows what the poor dog will go through in that time.
Bless you for fighting for the poor dog and I really, really hope there's a happy ending.
PS. I'd be tempted to dogknap him too lol.Sigless0 -
Have heard about a similar thing with RSPCA. Someone had a lurcher who was being mis-treated(it got dog knapped
) it was replaced by a GSD-it lived outside, minimal food, no water and its shelter/bed was an old brick building full of rubble) RSPCA were called(several times) but the dog remained there! Not happy with this, all the local dog shelters were contacted to find out where this dog had come from, eventually the right one was found and the shelter reclaimed the GSD:T
Some time later I received one of those mailings from RSPCA(asking for donations) They received a letter from me detailing exactly why I would not be donating to them!!0 -
i live on walkway bordering a park and noticed a dog tied to the railings at 5.30 am.i couldnt do much as i have a male terrier myself who doesnt like other dogs.i took a bowl of water and some food to him and waited til rspca opened and rang.explained situation and they said they couldnt take him as they were full.rang other animal shelters, same story.in the end i rang rspca back and said did they just want me to leave him tied up then?eventually i had to bring him into my garden and keep my dog inside.when they eventually turned up the woman was really off with me,told me she knew my game??reckons the dog was mine as he was so friendly towards me and i just wanted rid.told me i would be blacklisted by them.i was fuming, put a complaint in but didnt get much joy.makes you think twice about doing a good deed.dont get me wrong i wouldnt see an animal suffer, but all the grief i got and accusations.so wrongShine on you crazy diamond..............0

That is shocking, absolutely disgusting. And it would make me think 'why did I bother?!' - but then you remember that poor little chap and it's a good thing you did for him. If I had been treated like that I would have not only complained to the RSPCA, I would also have gone to my local newspaper requesting a proper apology from them and the woman involved."Your life is what your thoughts make it"

It doesn't say it takes 7-10 days to do the visit, but 7-10 days to get the report on the computer, if I read it correctly.
I know that when I do client visits in my line of work I don't do the report immediately, because when I'm out on the road my computer access is limited. I might wait until the end of the week and do them all together. I've got about six to input on the system over this weekend.0 -
How about ringing the vet you took him to, and asking their advice? They may be able to discuss this with the owner if they are a customer of theirs?0

I'm not sure what's happened yet. Had a very hectic day, so i'm going to give them a call in the morning (that gives them their 10 days for the report anyway, so no more excuses
)
I took a little drive round last night but I couldn't see the dog- it was raining though so hopefully he was inside keeping dry.
Will let you all know what they say when I call tomorrow.Every time life knocks me down, I just stay on the ground for a bit and look up at the sky for a while. Eventually I get up and have a cup of tea.0
