In the winter I don't bother washing it as it gets clagged up with road grime. So I think I'll do it in the summer. But then Summer comes and the front end get clagged up with dead flies and bugs. So I just wash it when it comes to sell it... I wipe the number plates free from any muck though so they can be read0

My local Vauxhall dealer has a special offer, buy a car from them and you get a 'free and easy'
Free wash, dust and vacuum for the rest of the time that you own the car. Brilliant eh.
It goes down there, once a fortnight, comes out sparkling while i sit in their lounge having a latte and a biscuit.
Bliss................make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I wash both out cars every week without fail. It enables you to spot any marks, scuffs and damage. Also if you leave dirt on the car for a prolonged time and someone brushes past it can scuff the paintwork badly with the dirt.
One thing I am anal about is vacuuming the car. I do this at least twice a week. If you only vacuum the car once every 6 months, it can take 2-3 hours to do a thorough job, whereas twice a week means it takes 10 minutes and you sit in a clean car.The man without a signature.0 -

That's how I found out on my old car that my sunroof leaked. And again after it was supposed to be fixed.:rotfl:All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
And another question - my dad told me that if I waxed the car I'd ruin it. Why, or was he talking his usual rubbish? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

The Mrs car is a workhorse so hasn't been washed for ages.
Mine, gets the full wash, clay, polish and wax treatment every now and again0 -
Just read that, I don't even wash/wax the top bit, yet alone the undersealed bit. Shiny underseal!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, it does sound a bit nuts, but we live by the sea, so it's probably a good idea to keep the salt away.
I wax mine every so often, I use Meguiars 3 step stuff and it takes hours, but looks great afterwards, although i'm sure my neighbours think i'm bonkers.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Only bad thing about washing your car is the will you do mine comments and the idiots who see you do it and think negative things and/or chuck eggs on it for you as a favour etc.

we wash our own cars. sometimes tho we will go to car wash or local jet wash as we got an mpv and it quite high so i find it easier. but i love washing the car. in fact it on my list of jobs to do tomoz. along with cutting the lawn, tip run and hoovering car out. i can't remember last time i saw anyone in my road washing their car. there an old man 4 doors up who i seen washing his car. but apart from that , that it. having said that my lounge is at back of house, so the rest of my road could get painted pink and have a street party before i'd notice anything ,lol.0
