Its murder when your feeling down, but nothing for it but pick yourself up, brush yourself off and start again. (easier said than done).
Glad your feeling on the up a bit. Well done on the dolly done. I got out all my squares for my patchwork quilt but have not done anything with them yet.

Feel a bit better today, but wish I could get rid of this lurgy.
Emptied my Christmas pot and had £55, not bad from bits of change and any change I had left at the end of the week.:j
Trying to decide now wether it would be better to put that into the bank towards making up my lost pay and then scrimp and get Christmas sorted out. Think that may be the most sensible idea.
Feeling very bah humbug at the moment but this is quite normal for me until I get OH's gifts sorted out. Can't see how am going to do that yet - nor have any inspiration:eek:
Think I am going to write a list of all I need to get and take it from there- at least it's a plan.
Off to sort some jars out for hampers if I can brave the cold and get to the shed. Have found Sainsbury's basic mint sauce is the cheapest thing I can get to get small jars (works out cheaper than buying empty ones) - so need to work out how many I have to buy!Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

WOW £55 is that just off 2s n1s and stuff :T.
Yeah know how you feel about Bah Humbug. I am not in the Christmas mood at all. Beside to theater is a Christmas market. I had to go round it yesterday lunch time to get where I wanted to be. It had no affect on me whats so ever. When money is short, tight or none existent its just not the same. I know Christmas is not about money........but it helps.
It has just made me all the more determined to prepare for next Christmas the whole year through. I do not have a great deal to buy for. If I did one a month It would be a huge help. But me being the Procrastinator I am......true to form I leave it all until December and no money put away for it . Do my usual rob peter to pay paul and miss payments and then have a just as bad January because I have to play catch up. NEVER EVER again though. I am a lot more ahead than usual years but still have stuff to get.
Wish you lived closer, give you all of my jars.
Ok I am off to get sorted for last day at theater.
Have a ggod day all.
Payday from my partime job today.......but its already accounted for.......food and petrol. Oh its depressing.......giving myself a kick up the but now. Roll on 2011Do I need this or just want it.

Got to reduce my smoking to at least 15 a day by Christmas:eek:trying to thing MSE and health here.

Now I know why I feel so awful, strangely I feel a bit better. At least it's not the dreaded M.E. blip (fingers crossed it won't be).
I am still really low and struggling with the entire idea of Christmas. OH and I are pretty much on target but it's me who is way off!
I haven't got anything for OH, he's given me a list of things that I can just about afford but it's all so boring and nothing special.
I do want to get him a Leeds United(big fan) fleece, can only get it off their website and need to get money into bank first to pay for it!
Anyhow today I have decided I am never going to be in this situation again.
I am going to pay off my debts and be super organized only problem is I haven't got a clue where to start.
Please any followers or lurkers prod me in the right directionDebt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Right robsmum, I've come over from the Matrix to give you a right good kick up the rear!
Haven't read the whole thread so don't know if you've got a SOA (will read later but going for a bath in a mo) but if you haven't then you need to do one and then you will know how much you have left to spend on debt and other spends.
Could you cut groceries right down and go on GC?
Could you do a demotivator for the fags?
Do you use Martins spreadsheet to put your budget into, divide up whats left by weeks in the month and THAT IS IT for spends?
If not these are quick and easy things to do while you are wrapped in a blanket getting better. My other tip (it works so laugh if you like) is to get up and put your face and perfume on before work so that you look better which in turn will make you feel better.
We all care about you but only you can pull yourself up and out ready for the onwards and upwards!!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Don't worry too much about Christmas, everybody seems to be spending less this year anyway.
Yes you do need to give up the cigarettes but just now possibly isn't the best time, with being sick and the freezing cold weather it's difficult enough to just keep things ticking over without trying to make major changes.

Hi Souk and Mags, thank you for your comments - both useful.
Souk: I love the perfume and face idea - that's a good one. Haven't ventured into spread sheets yet, being a technophobe I struggle with most things like that! Do manage a pen. pad and calculator - just;)
Have reduced groceries by nearly half since last New Year( am pleased with that) but am still looking for ways to cut it back.
Part of my problem with budgetting is that I am paid cash weekly, supposedly on a Friday but if they happen "to forget" it can be days later.
Mags: Like very much the 15 minute idea of each area I want to work on - I think that would really help me to get my focus back.
Do feel a bit better today, the antibiotics are beginning to do the trick and am doing the barest minimum after I come home from work, so there's a glimmer of hope.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
