Hi everyone, ive searched this thread and cant find an answer to my query so i hope you can point me in the right direction.
Im travelling to Poland for surgery in 2 weeks and im trying to book travel insurance but they only ask for pre existing medical conditions. i dont have any but will have a medical condition after surgery and have to stay in Poland for 8 days.. Do i have to declare this or will standard insurance do? its not very clear..
Thanks in advanceDFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
Most Travel Insurance policies explicitly do not cover you going abroad for an operation.
I think you will have to find a specialized company.0 -

I think you will have to find a specialized company.
Also I don't understand what you mean by only having a condition following surgery. Surely there must be a reason why you need the operation ?0 -

Alpha Travel were absolutely useless when my nephew caught typhoid in South America. They made him discharge himself from a private hospital to go to their authorised hospital which was in fact closed due to a public holiday. He had to organise his own transport and because he couldn't speak Spanish he didn't understand what they were saying at the other hospital. I repeatedly asked Alpha Travel to ring their hospital as the private doctor had said there might be a problem but they said there would be no problem as they used this hospital all the time. Alpha Travel couldn't have cared less. Pay that bit extra and go with someone with a proven track record.0

I am new to posting on this site so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I was looking for a bit of advice. My partner and I booked flights to Bangkok flying out 29th Dec and returning on Jan 13th. We purchased travel insurance via holidaysafe - their platinum plus option. Since we booked, my partner has been diagnosed with severe anxiety and has been recommended that she doesn't fly as she has been experiencing panic attacks etc. I wondered if the insurance which we have purchased will cover us cancelling the trip with a doctors certificate?
Any help would be appreiciated.0 -
You should be ok, but the only way to find out is to contact Holidaysafe and explain the circumstances to them.I am new to posting on this site so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. As long as she has not had any previous consultation with her doctor that could be related to the current condition.
Or, if she has, it was declared as a pre exisitnig condition.0 -
