Sorry if this has been covered - I haven't read the whole thread.

I am trying to get insurance for my two daughters, who are 17 & 15.

I have always previously bought them single trip insurance from Premier, but this year they have changed their provider and will not insure anyone under 18, without there also being an adult on the policy.
OH & I have insurance with our bank account, so a family policy is not needed.
However I am coming up against this with most companies I have tried online; "proposer must be over 18".
Does anyone know of any companies that will provide (preferably reasonably priced) cover for teenagers? or has the law changed or something?

    Hi,

Am taking a 3 day break to Paris, any recommendations for a standard 3 day single trip policy, there seem to be so many to choose from!

    Thanks in advance!
  • Dear Martin,
Thank you for your fantastic website. I need some advice about bmi baby. I have already booked tickets with them from menorca to east midlands airport in June this year (the out journey was booked separately with flythomascook). I havent yet bought travel insurance but have just heard on the news that the entire airline may collapse. What should I look for in insurance to make sure i am covered and can get back to the UK? Please help

    Is this for real?

No insurance will cover you for an event that has already happened!

Hi hope someone can help. My dh and I get free travel insurance with our bank so we need to buy it for our 2 children (19 and 12). I've got a quote from moneysupermarket which is about £25 so that's fine but the only way they can quote is if I click the family button and put their ages. They are sisters, so are family but does anyone know if that is ok or does a parent have to be included on a family policy?

I am organising family cover for me, my husband and baby son.
Last December I had a herniated lumbar disc which has resulted in a condition called Cauda Equina Syndrome.
I have organised annual European cover for the 3 of us with Virgin which states it will not pay for
"Any medical treatment that you receive because of a
medical condition or any illness related to a medical
condition which you knew about at the time of taking out
this insurance and for an annual multi-trip policy, prior to
the booking of any individual trip".
Am I right in thinking that I will be covered for illness etc but only if it isn't directly related to my CES?
I am looking into an individual policy for myself which does cover pre-existing conditions, but want to make sure that non-disclosure of it on the family policy doesn't invalidate the policy for my husband and son, or for myself for anything non-related?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,

Im going to do a course in September in Hungary. It also lasts for 32 days so outside most standard isurance provider who go upto 28 days.
I will obviously want to take my laptop and my iPhone and would want insurance for them.

If you go direct to most travel insurers, they will quote for over 30 days on non-backpacker policies.

Cover For You Travel Insurance, Insure & Go Insurance, Columbus Insurance; they will all go up to 12 months.

    Hi,

The article mentions the flex account cover can be 'cleverly manipulated' for family cover but does anyone actually know how?? We have a 23-month-old at the date of travel.

    Thanks

I recently had to tell Age UK about a new medical condition and they are covering me at no extra cost to the cover I already have with them. However, they have sent me an invoice for £0.00 and asked for payment by return:T:T:T
