:)Thanks! Was actually thinking of getting just dance instead. It might be easier and, as you say, you don't have to get it all right. If you are sweating it must be doing some good

I bought zumba for the wii last week, did my first workout tonight, I had a good workout, have 2 left feet, my legs were aching, but it was great fun, round 2 tomorrow!

Just commenting to say that Zumba is great fun and for those worrying about going to class, don't! You'll find that everyone is so busy trying to keep up they won't even notice what you're doing. It's a great way to exercise, you don't realise how much you can sweat by just following the dance steps.

Hi, I haven't got wii zumba but have just dance 2. That's quite energetic I think + I get red faced + feel as if I've worked hard . I've been to a few Zumba classes + found them good fun. Don't think anyone cares if you don't do the moves spot on . There was a wide age range there + I'd say some were 60 + . To the lady who's 50 I'd say , give it a go + don't worry about being too old . I'm 50 + and didn't feel too old to be there .

I love the Just Dance's I think concentrating on the moves helps me forget I'm out of breath and knackered. :o:D

Yes,Jacks, the Just Dance is fun + the Just Sweat programme makes me do just that ! I find that being red faced + glowing (!) at home suits me fine + don't have to worry what I wear or how I look . Anything that gets anyone moving has to be good , doesn't it .

The gym I attend have Zumba classes and the person that goes to the gym with me attends them and it does apparently get easier, like most things.

It won't be exactly the same as the Wii, but i'm guessing it will get much easier over time. All about learning and your body getting used to it.

I only came across this thread as i'm looking for some good Wii deals as we are looking at buying one for use on our non Gym days :D

Well Ive done my 2nd session today (im only doing 1 a week atm) and I found it much much easier, I got through the beginers session without dying and although I sweated LOADS I felt really good at the end !

I couldnt get into just dance 2 as a workout, maybe just because it was too stop start with changing songs etc ?

I have decided to join in with my DD and use the Wii.

We have just been using it together and I have used it for just over an hour in total.

Can anyone tell me if they got fit using the Wii and what they found the most effective games were? Also how often did they use it and for how long?

    Thanks.

I guess it depends on how much you are using it.

I have been using it 3-4 times a week since April and I have definitely noticed a difference in my fitness levels, and have lost a fair bit of weight (along with healthy eating of course)

I found the muscle and aerobic exercises the most useful, but am getting a bit bored of them all now and have just ordered the Wii fitness coach which I have heard is better.

My mum swears by hers but does also go swimming and walks alot- she'd never 100% rely on the wii I think.

I have used hers in the past and whilst its useful for a decent (if not tad condiscending!) resistance type workout but did find (and yes I was testing it!!) I could easily trick the machine, stand with poor posture and have it not tell me off! I didn't find any of the cardio workouts were good enough for me and think the gym membership still works much better for me!

Also dislike looking at my weight at all. As long as I am within a healthy range and eating and exercising within a healthy amount I don't see why the machine needs to tell me any information on it.

I guess its a personal thing, not something I like using but others seem to love them! They had them at the vitality show a few years back to test them out and some stores also have them out to test, I'd say its worth seeing if its your sort of thing before going out to buy one.
