    Is Zumba really for younger folks? I am 50 now and would never dream of even going to a step class as I have no co-ordination but I do enjoy the wii fit. I am pretty sure I'd never manage the moves needed but perhaps I might lose weight trying??:D

    I'm sure any age could do it. I can't keep up most of the time and like I've said already, I'm pretty rubbish at it :p You should try it and I bet you'll like it.

    So far I've just being doing the "class" part of the Zumba and realised a few days ago that if I do "Zumba Party" I can unlock different stuff!! I'm now upto 45 minute intermediate... OMG 30 mins in I was just hopping round, puffing and panting and ready to quit!! I stuck it out and finished the 45 mins but was seriously shattered :rotfl:I might just stick to the 20 minute level until I build some more stamina!!
    Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.

    I thought about Zumba, had a look at the tutorials on youtube and decided it looked too difficult for me. I struggle to keep to the steps in Just dance!

    I bought zumba after seeing a demo. However the demos on wii are just too quick for me. I do wii step on wii fit without problem. Having read this thread, I've realized putting it away in the cupboard is not making it easier! The demo on tv did not make it seem so frenetic as the wii. I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems.

    I have just got this and I figure that although I am not doing it exactly right it's still getting me off my a!?& and doing something and it is enjoyable! My kids get more entertainment from watching me I think! Lol. I have never Zumba'd before but love it!

    I do hope to be good enough to join a class eventually, but at the moment I'm just doing my best with the steps, raising my heart rate and burning calories with a big grin on my face. Hubby laughs at me! (I scowl on uphill walks but I happily wheeze doing Zumba!)

    If it helps anybody I've got a lot better than I was at first.

    It's a great de-stresser too. :dance::dance::dance:

  • Hey - I go to zumba classes and had invested in a wii with wii fit my bday. brother in law put two and two together and bought me the zumba workout. Now, I like my zumba classes and find it's really fun and invigorating. But I have struggled with the wii game version. It goes straight in with no verbal instruction so as a result it's really hard to keep up. At least in class the instructor builds up the routines by teaching you a few moves before starting up and then instructs you all the way through. Some of the dances I know from zumba class are easier to do on the wii but the newer ones are defintely more challenging.
    I would recommend going to a class. No matter how un-coordinated you think you are, you will get into it and have a right laugh. After a bit when you get into the routines, it's really good fun.

    Hi, I haven't got wii zumba but have just dance 2. That's quite energetic I think + I get red faced + feel as if I've worked hard . I've been to a few Zumba classes + found them good fun. Don't think anyone cares if you don't do the moves spot on . There was a wide age range there + I'd say some were 60 + . To the lady who's 50 I'd say , give it a go + don't worry about being too old . I'm 50 + and didn't feel too old to be there .
