I have had problems from these idiots for the last year they first contacted me around January saying I owed sky money for a while ago but couldn't give me any details so I said I don't see how I do as I cleared my sky account when I moved house.
I said I'm not willing to talk to them until they have some details about the debt as I think their some sort of scammers.
They then contacted me in February saying I owed £54 for August I told them no chance as I moved out in May and I even paid upto July as I had 2 month outstanding on their 12 month contract and I want some paperwork proof I owed anything.
I then didn't hear anymore from them till today when they rang me saying they contacted me in February I still owed money!!! I asked them where's the proof I asked for? They said sky has given them a date and amount owed that's all the proof they need. I said no, he said yes, I said crack on then as I don't owe anything.
They are so rude and agressive every time I spoke to them and won't listen to me does anyone have any advice I know I don't owe anything this is ridiculous.0 -
Define "a while ago"? I take it you left Sky 10 months into a 12 month contract, and paid the remaining 2 months of the contract?
How did you pay Sky?0 -
A while ago as in May 09.
And I paid with the direct debt month by month as they refused to let me pay it off in the May.
I sent my bank statement to them but they said its August I owe.0 -
So you paid every month up until July, where the Sky was cancelled? Did you get a final bill from Sky, showing a £0 balance? Can you log into your My Sky and look at historic bills from the period?
I've just checked my Sky bill, and I pay my bill on the 25th of the month for the period 25/12/2011 - 25/01/2012... so I pay in advance. I assume you would have also. That leads me to believe that if you paid July's bill it would have been paid in June. A bill in July would cover you for the period into August, so I am thinking someone's info is wrong somewhere.
Have you tried calling Sky to get it sorted? Don't speak to Mucky Balls on the phone any more, they are only in it to bully you into paying. They don't care when you paid the bill. If they call again just ignore the phone.0 -
I never registered online and doubt I'd be able to bring it up now as it was over 2 years ago.
As for my sky bills and final bill iv moved twice since that address so iv no idea where they are and most likely been binned.
Thing I really don't understand is I'm with sky now and not once has this been flagged up by them.
I will ring sky and see if I can get any joy.0 -
Help!!!
I Don't know if anyone else has experienced this but...
i've been getting regal texts from this company? or what ever they are, to call them on 01563 556533 with a reference number. I've never called or received a call from them but after goggling them it says it a debt company. I'm a full-time student and have a part time job i don't have any debts (except student Finance stuff) and don't understand why there are texting me or even how they got my number. It's been happening for Ages now since before i was 18 surly thats illegal?
I don't want to ring them as i read they can be quite bullying and aggressive.
any advice on what i should do or how i could get rid of them???
thanks0 -

Hi All
Just wondered if anyone can help. I posted back in 2010 #370 (page 19) and having read it again, realise it’s not very clear as to what questions I was asking (apologies for that) but here I am again ref the same situation, but now with what appears to be another company sending the letters, however this time with an option to reach a 'mutually agreeable' final settlement. that tells me they know it's most likely SB. I have checked on line with my bank statement as far back as march 2005 and cant for the life of me see any payment in regard to this debt.
But here is my problem, I don’t know if any CCJ / default has been registered against me, and it would seem to be impossible for the credit check agencies to check my rating, as I have not been on any electoral role probably since 2005! I have lived in many different addresses during the intervening years. About 3 years ago I got credit to buy a car (without any difficulty that I can recall) I paid that off after about 6 months in full. I have had a couple of bank loans / overdrafts with the bank I have been with for several years, without any problems. So..
1st question how can I check my credit rating (CR), as I cannot remember all the addresses I have been at (current address 4 years approx but still not on electoral role)
2nd question does the fact that I have had credit given to me actually mean that I do have a reasonable credit rating?
3rd question if someone can tell me how to access my (CR) and then I find a CCJ / default against me where do I stand in terms of this debt being SB
Any help much appreciated0 -
1st question how can I check my credit rating (CR), as I cannot remember all the addresses I have been at (current address 4 years approx but still not on electoral role)Go with the addresses you know. You only need the £2 statutory reports. It is possible they may want proof of you being at your current address, but that shouldn't be too difficult. That will give you your credit report. Your credit rating doesn't really exist. Each lender makes up their own scheme. Don't pay extra for a meaningless number.
2nd question does the fact that I have had credit given to me actually mean that I do have a reasonable credit rating?Probably, but see comments above
3rd question if someone can tell me how to access my (CR) and then I find a CCJ / default against me where do I stand in terms of this debt being SB It wouldn't be SB but this scenario is unlikely
Any help much appreciated
If the debt collector knew of a ccj on this, they would have mentioned it. If they were at all confident this isn't statute barred, they would not be coming in with an opening offer to settle at a discount.0 -
Thanks Fatbelly
I had another read of one of the two letters sent to me (both identical, bar the ref numbers) I don’t quite know what has happened, but it would appear Muck Hall have sold the debt to this new company Ruthbridge limited who are acting on behalf of Cabot financial Europe LTD, who have passed on the debt, to Ruthbridge for collection. Also had a voice mail on my work phone this morning requesting I call them back quoting blah blah blah. Not gonna happen! There is no mention of CCJ’s or anything in the letter, only a hint of things to come! i.e. “Contact us to discuss the repayment of the above account to avoid a recommendation to our client to proceed with further action against you for the recovery of the outstanding balance” then next paragraph the softer approach “depending upon your financial status, provision may be considered by way of an attractive settlement option which could substantially reduce the sum due” they also say they would be happy to consider instalments. What does your gut instinct tell you0
