Vets told me to leave him to cry even if its for 3 hours.

I wish vets would stick to medical advice.

Not knocking all vets, I know there are some good ones on here but that is seriously bad advice. :(

Well, my little one had an excellent night last night. Fast asleep by 11.15 (I had to go to be early because it had been a long day at school and I was pooped) and stayed that way until 4.30am when she started crying. I got up and took her straight out...she dropped off straight away when we came back in. She stayed that way until 6am when I woke her up so I could get ready for work.

However, we have a puppy play pen for her with her crate attached. Today when my mum came round she was running round the living room...wagging her tail! AND then when I got home she was fast asleep on the rug. I've been round the room many times but there seems to be nothing missing or chewed and she's as happy as larry. Although she has passed out on the rug now with her legs in the air! Ha ha. Thing is we still can't figure out how she did it. I feel some secret filming coming on.

While she's not doing anything now...I'd never forgive myself if she did and hurt herself. So we need to solve it.

    Hi Twinklie
What type of dog have you got? What a change in just a couple of days, (Ive just reread your first post). Sounds like you have a very happy, clever contented little pup. Hopefully I'll be able to say the same in a couple of days:)

I know...it's frightening how quickly she is changing. She eats anything and everything you put in front of her now...loving her food bless her. She's snoozing now...AGAIN! So it'll be time to get up after the football (I've been warned I'm not allowed to get her up before that) for toilet and play. She does seem to be responding really well to our little routine. :D

She's a DDB (Dogue De Bordeaux). It's weighing in night tonight as well. She was 1st 1lbs on Sunday when she went for her first jab, so it'll be interesting to see what she is nearly a week later. She wasn't remotely bothered by the vets except for we'd woke her up from a nap to take her and it unimpressed her greatly! Ha ha.

She's a girl after my own heart, food and sleep rule her life! :rotfl:

Incidentally, Belle loves her kong toys. She has a bone, wubba, 2 normal kongs and a bone on a rope (all puppy varieties). Everything else gets ignored at the minute! LOVES them.

Well had a good nights sleep for the first time in a week. Put Boris in the kitchen with the door on cate open and puppy pads down. Didnt wake me up and did a wee on the pads:) We had been covering his cate with a blanket but last night we covered it with an old quilt as well, to make it even darker. Dont know what worked so will have to do it the same tonight. His fav toys are a couple of small teddies donated by my DD. Hes so small that he cant even fit a ball into his mouth yet. Also I have a DS aged 9 and a DD aged 7 so he gets lots of play time with them. Hopefully this is onwards and upwards:)

Well my DH was back last night (he lives away Monday - Friday usually). I told him not to spend the evening cuddling her and letting her do what she wants...so he did! lol. Anyway bed for her at 1 am (I was in bed long before that) up again at 5.40 am. Out and pee'd then he cuddled her before putting her to bed. So she hasn't really been back to sleep since...just cried until he appeared again. I don't cuddle her except during play and cleaning (I do want to though). I just take her out then walk her back to bed, close the door and we both get more sleep. Alas, I think her routine has been thrown off a bit now.

He also doesn't stay out long enough with her so she poo'd in her play pen for the first time this morning. So I think I'm going to have to retrain both of them! Ah well.

Its my kids that dont do the right thing with Boris, especially my DD she just wants to cuddle him like a teddy. I had to laugh at the weight of yours, Boris is only 4lbs! Probably the weight of one of your kongs!

OMG...thats tiny!! She's a little monster. She's 9 weeks and 2 days and eats everything in sight. She's got longer and taller in the space of a week...it's quite frightening. She can also now escape her puppy pen, which means we need to spend more time puppy proofing again.

Well she was woken up at 4.15 am by my husband returning from Wales, went for a wee and straight back to bed. Then woke me at 6.30 am (breakfast time) - I did mean to set my alarm but she did the job just as well. Ha ha. She's since just been mooching around. We are going to get her a few new things later and take her for a trip out in the early evening in the car somewhere.

Everyone said puppys pee and poo everywhere. She only seems to have one poo a day and pee's every 4 hours or so. She's very regular! ha ha. I was expecting her to squat every 5 minutes though the way everyone went on about it. It's been a long time since we had a pup in the family so I can't remember what it was like.
