No, as that is classed as operator error, which is not covered by the r & r policy. Same applies to double scans.

Is that true? I thought the sign says 'if thing don't add up' . I've always thought overpricing whether on reduced items or not is an over price and your bill isn't adding up.
I wouldn't have thought it makes any difference whether it's the cashier, the person responsible for changing the sels or head office that have caused you to pay more than was advertised. In the end you have still paid more than was advertised and therfore things aren't adding up.

I can remember if I've ever received an R%R on reduced items but I'm sure I've seen on the misprice thread Jeans and things that were reduced in the sale going through at full price.
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves

I have no intention of doing so and was trying to be big by saying it. I will try not to be so silly in the future. It is hard not to get carried away on these threads though isn't it?

Although if you were to place them in a store to allow random strangers to get an R&R, then surely you have commited no crime... ;>

    No different to shopputting really.

Does this imply you work for head office?!!

No, I work in a store. Head Office (or rather customer services) would not normally be called about a refund.

That should narow it down when we are attempting to trace the store you work for. :D TBH, amazingly, you are one of my favourite posters on this thread, even though you work for the 'enemy' (that's a joke, btw!) and NEVER post any misprices. :D

Thank you, I'm glad you find my input useful.

Your my favourite poster....um....with a face that looks like a squashed dog ;)

Dann what position do you work in for Tesco? Wombleing is illegal?? What would a prosecution lead to realistically?

When working in Threshers we were told that it was illegal to use our Nectar card for the customers transactions if they didnt have one...can't remember why though. Is it fraud because the points really belong to them

I forget the wording, but I think there is something about this in the T & C's on the CC application form.

If the points are not collected by the (genuine) customer, they belong to the company.

Don't like to contradict Constantine but the R&R policy is clear on this - if Tesco's overcharge either with an incorrect price or through operator error the customer is entitled to a full R&R. Phoned head office to check this as it happened to me when a bottle of wine was scanned twice, clear overcharge full R&R.

"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"

It is not an overcharge as you have been charged the correct price - just for too many.

To Quote HO "Yes you have been charged £13.98 for a £6.99 bottle of wine so you are entitled to a refund and get to keep the wine. Lucky you."

How anyone can argue that being charged for 2 items when you only bought one is not an overcharge is beyond me.

People have been sacked from Tesco for doing exactly the same thing, using their Clubcard when customers don't have one. Perhaps wombeling would be classed under the same rule? If you didn't collect the points they don't belong to you?

I do wonder how Tesco would prove it though other than catching you at it literally.
