The Dude's rule number one on R&Ring is 'each to their own' - I suggest to all that you leave your moral judgements at the door when you jump on this thread.

Having read the last few pages with interest, I can't help but respond to the posts slagging off Hokers.....

Mcdonag - you are indeed a character - but throwing your weight around in cyber-space isn't on (in this case).

Having read your posts you clearly advocated taking R&R to a fradulent level - I'm not going to argue with you - what can't speak can't lie - your advocation of introducing leaflets into a store is simply fraud - it goes beyond knowingly buying an over-priced item and claiming R&R.

(Saying there's a world of difference between posting a suggestion and doing it isn't a defence old boy).

And whilst you have been active here since July the likes of Hokers has been around here for a long time - when the likes of him and other long-standing R&Rs post, perhaps you should take note, instead of throwing a wobbly.

I'm sure you will continue to post here - you seem to enjoy it (and why not) - let's just keep it friendly and avoid any suggestion of foul play - that way you won't upset other Dudes.

Surely we can all be happy supportive bunnies in this R&R community?

Personally I love this thread, but when someone on here makes a personal attack against someone and names them, talks about chasing schoolgirls, considers the possiblilty of breaking the law by fraudulant use of promotional leaflets and brags constantly about how much they have ripped off Tescos and denies doing so, it's time to stop.

This thread and its previous incarnations has seen the odd idiot spoil it for the average Joe, who can forget the mouthy security guard or the equally opinionated Rob********. Both made their opinions well known, both were rounded upon, took umbridge shouted some more but were eventually ignored and disappeared, who knows, they may me around under a different guise?

But this board survives and long may it do so. Posters come and posters go but let's not forget it's a bit of fun, consumer revenge with an added twist.

Personally I believe Tesco could pull the policy any time they choose. Every other store has and we don't see them receiving the £2000 fines every other day. They haven't pulled it for many reasons, IMHO, because it's good PR, because they advertised the policy on tv, because in my case it's a loss leader and because there are only a few of us actually playing the game seriously enough to worry them.

I've reported the post by mcdonag as I see it as a blatant personal attack with nasty undertones.

    Mcdonag,
Please note that in all posts I made regarding the comment you made on the misprice thread, I used the conditional progressive tense. I said "You would be doing...if..." rather than you will do or that you are definitely going to do. At no point did I say that you have done it or that you are definitely going to do it. I was clarifying the legal position for others. I went on to say that I hope you decide against doing anything like you've suggested on the misprice thread, as it could well cost you your job.

People here commented because you made the initial post on the misprices thread. Most people know it's illegal to do what you said you would be doing with those leaflets. I'd say some of those who commented did so because they were worried about you taking such a risk (myself included), rather than commenting because they dislike you.

Thank you for this. Point taken. Can I officially now apologise for mentioning that I took leaflets with the intention of planting them in other stores.

I have no intention of doing so and was trying to be big by saying it. I will try not to be so silly in the future. It is hard not to get carried away on these threads though isn't it?

    Can I ever be forgiven?

PS. All the stores I went in to yesterday had the leaflets in question and some even had a poster up too.

Does this imply you work for head office?!!

Not just that but the “Wombleing” lark advertised in his signature will get himself arrested if caught. I’ve had 2 successful prosecutions this year after catching people doing it.

Dann what position do you work in for Tesco? Wombleing is illegal?? What would a prosecution lead to realistically?

When working in Threshers we were told that it was illegal to use our Nectar card for the customers transactions if they didnt have one...can't remember why though. Is it fraud because the points really belong to them

Watford Store had the bike cover with a SEL of £4.87. It Self scanned at £5.98 - They were very courteous in apologising and giving a Full Refund and letting me keep the bike cover. I think maybe a lot of their bike accessories may be mispriced

I have found the Watford store to be the best! I've had four different CS assistants in there and every single one smiled, apologised, and gave instant no quibble refund...the way it should be!!

Love the not so subtle subject change.:T

Referring to Hey Dudes post about leaving morals at the door, I do find it difficult when I read posts about those who visit store after store after store gaining r+r. I'm quite happy for you to pm me and I can provide you with a list of other hobbies which are far more enjoyable and don't clog up your study with endless laptops, PSP games, mobiles and books.

How many pieces of meat can people store in their freezer? How many phones do people need? And why do I need to know about the total of R+Rs you've had? Next thing you know people will start posting photos of their assembled collection of r+r.

If you are new to R+R, welcome...I've noticed there are lots of newbies posting on the other thread which is great to see. Long may the spread of information about this policy continue as the more people that know about R+R means the more every Tesco shopper stops getting overcharged and Tesco finally buy into a system which promotes price integrity on every item. Making your own little sub forums on R+R with exclusive memberships is great for you, but not for the collective consumer revenge MSE wields. Greed is not pleasant in any walk of life.

We've been over this debate several times in the past 18 months I've posted R+Rs on MSE so I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I do know though that the high priced items I've had on R+R over the past 6 months haven't made it onto MSE as the minority who travel from store to store collecting several for themselves stop the majority who just pop into their local store from benefitting. And from the absence of lots of old regulars tells me they've either stopped posting too or gone elsewhere which benefits no-one except themselves and their little bunch of buddies.

So everyone loses out. How sad.

My chart poster is correct (with Saints Row as GOTW), test scanned it again today and the offer worked fine.

That should narow it down when we are attempting to trace the store you work for. :D TBH, amazingly, you are one of my favourite posters on this thread, even though you work for the 'enemy' (that's a joke, btw!) and NEVER post any misprices. :D
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
