Agree with what your saying in case of MC, not sure that staff would have even noticed it, pretty sure he wouldn't just blatently plant them without some caution.

Don't have a moral crusade against Tesco, but they dont do themselves any favours.

Moral thing to do is tell TS..true, but when nothing gets done then what ? Clealry not take the law into your own hands.

At the end of day, for me personally, I couldn't give a sh1te what people do.
I still get my divi every year, and so far the share price has risen every year since I 1st started buying at about £2.10

This just makes it more value for money :)
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

Most of the high value items being referred to on the other thread at the moment relate to SELs which are out of date. In my book that's not misleading, but while Tesco continue to offer R+Rs on these items that doesn't really matter.

There's taking the law into your own hands and then there's breaking the law. You're not breaking the law when R&Ring genuinely. It's morally dubious for you to hunt around for the mistakes, but not illegal. However, it is illegal to fake a mistake that would lead to you getting a full refund. To answer your earlier question, it is illegal to print off and site your own price labels in any store if you then intend to commit deception based around those price labels. The act of printing off the labels isn't illegal, and nor is siting them (although Tesco will ban you for doing it and it will look extremely suspicious). I've printed my own POS in Tesco stores before (staff are very friendly in some stores and hand you their personal cards that allow them to use the POS computer/printer situated in one of the aisles). However, I've never done it in order to deceive and only in the course of my work. I don't work for Tesco, though.

They are misleading in that it causes the customer to think they are going to be charged that lower price. However, the correct price is the one that scans at the till. They R&R because they have to charge the lowest price displayed on the shelf, even if it's left there by mistake. Failure to do so is an offence. Customers are not expected to read the promotion end dates printed on the SELs. They are there for the staff.

    sweet mother of mary.......................

now, my total of R+R to date is adding up to something approaching 6k,
the past two days has added nearly 1k to that price

another ACER laptop in the wescountry!!!

and customer support were happy to give it to me (eerie that, no arguing, no nothing, just a cheezy grin from an assistant whilst someone else went away somewhere)

    what's even funnier.........just 20p difference in price

    SEL 499.79, scan 499.99

    I can't believe it!!!!!!!!

there was a telly scanning higher than SEL, but didn't want to try it on
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

In what respect? If you paid nothing for an item if the store gives you a refund - it will be all of £0.

And there is a rather miffed store manager in warrington today as she got overruled by HO on a r&r on an xbox ;) Quite happy.

Not quite, Blacksheep. You have bought the item and paid for it. The refund isn't really a refund on the item you have bought. It's a gesture of goodwill on Tesco's part for overcharging you, in accordance with their promise. Your statutory rights are not affected, including any warranty or guarantee on the item in question.

  • I'm sure Mr. T may have something to say on that if you tried to then return said item - think they may class it as a refund and that the goods cost you nothing.

Oh and if anyone wants they still had the motorolla phones mispriced there - but thought it might be cheeky going for both.

They would replace it (within 28 days) or send it off for repair, in accordance with your statutory rights. They would not say that you got the product for free. If they did, a quick call to CS would put them right, as there's a big sign up underneath the promise saying "Your Statutory Rights Are Not Affected".

How did you manage that? From what i can gather so far, any store ringing head office to ask about an R&R on an xbox have been told not to give it!

I tried today in a store with an IN DATE poster stating 'Prey' was GOTW and LOADS of little signs on every shelf saying "buy xbox 360 with game of the week and save £20". I was over charged and went to get a refund. The CS had to call a manager over who didn't seem to understand the policy. She said the policy was to double the amount of over charge, therefore refunding me £40. I tried arguing my point politely but was getting nowhere. Rather annoying as the other manager standing there agreed with me at one point but then back tracked her way out of it. She called HO and they sided with her.

I was quite stupid really, should've called HO myself while I was there but instead just told them to give me a refund on everything and take it all back :o
