You may have more joy from the manufacturer though.

Arguably not to give it to you is against they're policy as they're then giving you less than what you would have bought. As for statutory rights, well Sale of Goods Act doesn't apply as you haven't bought anything.
Not 100% sure about this, perhaps others can help.
If Tesco buy the goods from a manufacturer, then a transaction has taken place to validate the "manufacturers" warranty, as it is the manufacturer who issue the warranty not Tesco's. Tesco are just a reseller of goods. (Wouldn't want to make this argument if it was on one of their own brand goods)
I can't see what this has to do with Tesco ?
And for T to enforce, wouldn't it have to be written into their T&C's ?Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

matto wrote:Well this seems a bit dubious to me. It's one thing if Tesco don't remove out-of-date SELs even though most normal people realise out-of-date means it no longer applies. But to rely on your own stock of out of date leaflets....
IS THIS UNSOLICITED MORAL GUIDENCE ?
WHATABOUT THE OTHER 10000000 PEOPLE THAT GET OVERCHARGED EVERYDAY BY TESCO..MAYBE YOU COULD GIVE TESCO A RING AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT ?Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Actually, he has a point. What Mcdonag's claimed he will do is fraud. He says he is going to take leaflets from one store to use in another store to claim a refund on an item that was not incorrectly priced. There's little difference between doing this and printing up SELs to take into stores in order to get refunds. It's actually illegal. People have been nicked for doing this.
Sorry MUNT, but that is bolox mate.
Tesco take good from depots and sell them to people, knowing that the prices are going to be incorrect. (they may not no at the time but by the time 5 RR go through they get the jist, but still carry on regardless)
It is ILLEGAL TO OVERCHARGE, there is no argument about that. £2000 fine per item sold.
Tesco knowingly overcharge, they must know all about the XBOX's by now, and they are still selling them.
So is it the case of being ok for tesco to rob its customers on a daily basis,
but not OK for people to make sure they get a good deal ?
If it is fraud then how come Tesco's don't call the police ?
All this is getting close to making me buy some more Tesco shares !Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

It's completely different to what McDonag's saying he is going to do. See? He's talking about deception. As a Loss Prevention Officer, he knows full well the implications of this. He also knows that if he gets caught, he will lose his job. He's taking a big risk doing this, and he knows it. I hope he sees sense and decides not to take these leaflets into other stores where the items are correctly priced in order to dishonestly obtain a pecuniary advantage. Where Mcdonag is concerned, Tesco will call the police if they cotton on to him.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Slow down mate! I think you've misunderstood something here. Legitimate R+Ring isn't fraud, but Mcdonag was talking about something different entirely - planting out of date leaflets in stores that have correct SELs, and then presumably trying to gain an R+R by lying about finding the leaflet in the store, when it wasn't there at all.0 -
