    Could it be R (for refunded) 5/9 (5th of the 9th) the / looking like a 1?

By Jove, i think you're right! Just checked my receipts and several say R 18/8
    R1/9 etc.

    Well spotted.

    Dudes,

    Is the ACER laptop national?

I might go for a hunt tonight - which of you Dudes have struck oil with an Acer?

Visited Tesco Extra @ Stockport last night -- they had lots of laptops but the mispriced one seemed to have NO SELs at all! Either they realised there was a problem, or some crafty b*gger got there ahead of me!!

Oh well. Let's hope I can find it elsewhere - I could really do with a new (and free) laptop!!

For a lot of items in Aylesbury - especially the Gameboy games - ALL SELs have been removed and only the stickers remain, and there are no scanners in store so you can't check prices before going through the tills.

Hi I've had lots of misprices thanks to this site, but I still can't 'read ' the barcodes. I remember someone scanned one ages ago and pointed out what to look for. Anyone help? Thanks

    Barcodes look something like this

    126426328582152 01

the first lot of numbers are of no interest, the last two are what you are looking for and there is generally a gap between them as above.

The higher the last two numbers the newer the sel, i.e the correct price.

    256234562986512 02 £4.89
    256234562986512 06 £9.78

The above would be a sure fire R&R if both labells were showing that is.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks lordexavier.

That makes sense when there are 2 sel. Which of the no's relate to the product. I'm sure on the original thread it showed the price you would be charged except on weighed items such as meat.

I'm off to Tesco with my list. Fingers crossed my son would love the computer for his birthday next month. He may have to do with a couple of games ;)

Is this the one you mean? I posted it in one of the previous threads, in response to a question about 4 point checks.

    DSC00955.jpg

First check is the item description - Reef Orange & Passion

Second check is the pack size/weight - 4*275ML

Third check is the ean - 5010038013939

All these should match the item to ensure the right thing is in the right place (and cut down the chance of incorrect pricing).

Fourth check relates to variable weight products, when the price per KG should be checked against the product price. (It used to be something else, but that is not relevent since the SEL's were redesigned). As you all know, this is a step that tends to get missed from time to time

Any errors with this could cause a store created miss price. Should be checked by the people filling the shelves.

The revision number post above is correct (although its not an absolutly certain r&r - could be revision 7 should be out with a new price again ;) )
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • I was a bit unsure yesterday about the meat offers as the price is per kg, there is a price on the meat and then the till scans as if the offer wasnt on making the price higher - is this right as i dont want to look a fool!
