Surely this is a hypercritical statement? If you visit these boards it implies that you too are after r+r's and therfore are one of these selfish people you desribe?
Yes, I get R+R (well, try to sometimes :-)
BUT, when i'm refused, I don't threaten legal action or demand to ring head office all the time. only once did head office get involved, and thats because the member of staff was clearly attempting to decieve
at the end of the day, ALL of us posting on this board are acting against the nature of the original R+R offer from Tesco, those threatning legal action - regardless of how right, or how wrong they are, are just ruining the offer for everyonemoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

I have no direct proof of the statement and therfore should not have made it, it was an assumption based upon the 'fee' of your posts to date
I apologise if the assumption was incorrectmoney saving my @rse.

Your question is the wrong way around. It should be why should anyone sit back and take being bullied by a giant corporation? If I bought 99 products and the 100th one was illegally priced, I would take exaclty the same action as I am now, no matter what the price. In fact I have already instigated a Trading Standars inspection, an ASA inquiry, and threatened a court claim all over a refusal of refund of £4.16 on CapriSun. The principle is important to me, it seems it is not the principle but the money that matters more to you.
we have differing views here, some people are out to be plain diffucult and stick to 'principles', others are more prepared to 'give' and take
my view is, you win some, you loose some, don't be an @rse and spoil things for the rest of the nation, too many people like you out there and the whole system falls down, no-one can benefitmoney saving my @rse.

Sorry, but I strongly disagree with every word of that. We're acting entirely within the spirit of the R+R policy by using it for exactly what it was intended for. If Tesco won't honour their own policy even when they are clearly in the wrong, we have every right to be annoyed. Why does it "ruin the offer for everyone" if one of us threatens legal action? You never know, it might lead to some clarification on the policy, some long overdue retraining of managerial and CS staff, and ultimately bring an end to the ambiguous amount of discretion some stores seem to have in refusing to obey Tesco R+R policy.0 -

And that is a GOOD THING.
People are only able to take advantage of Tescos policy so blatently because they're so bloody awful at pricing and labelling in the first place.
It's about time Tescos got their act togther. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -

we wouldn't want to have another Tesco misprices policy discussion thread on the grabbit board as it would be too confusing, and anyway this discussion thread is a rare 'one off' as discussion threads are not usually allowed on this forum.
If someone wants to start a thread on this on the Discussion board then they can link to it from a post on this thread and people could continue discussing the xbox topic on that thread.0 -
Just back from tesco after a big fight with the manager over some beef. Wonder if anyone can tell me if I was right or wrong:
There was a bucket of beef joints with a yellow sel underneath, saying price/kg 9.48. Price on beef - 10.48. Some of the beef in the bucket was priced 9.48 with flash stickers on and some said 10.48. I picked up the 10.48 ones.
At CS, the manager came over and said i couldn't have R&R because there were two different buckets of EXACTLY THE SAME beef, one had a SEL of 10.48 and the other had the yellow SEL. I did not notice the other bucket but if i had done I wouldn't have paid any attention, as the beef was exactly the same, just the bucket I took mine out of was mixed, some with flash stickers and some without.
The crux of the matter was that the manager said, since two prices were displayed it was not an overcharge and they were not breaking the law. It was my fault for not selecting the flash stickered beef.
Finally got my R&R after a big fight and phone call to head office but who was right? Me or the manager? What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!
DFD - WAS: a while ago
NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!

You were right, if two prices are displayed for the same item then by law the lowest price must be chargedOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0
