  • I was told off by an adviser aswell as took one over charge back then noticed another game mispriced so picked it up and too it to CS and she said " if you go back around again and get another overprice then i wont serve you!" she even checked to see if i temperered with the seal.. as if to say i put the seal on it myself!!
  • Hiya,
I was in a Tesco store today to get R&R on 2 GBA games (Mario tennis & Barbie) and the CS said i could only get the difference.. I of course said that she was wrong and that the policy clearly states ..blah blah.. as we all know. She tried to tell me that it had been changed just last week and that R&R is only for double scans otherwise known as operator error. (I told her she was most definately wrong as I had been to the CS desk of my other local Tesco (last week) because till person had double scanned a botttle of vodka and was told it was NOT allowed to be R&R'd and only the overcharged would be paid back.) when i continued to state my case she called for a manager. He told her that I was entilted to R&R and when she said about double scans he said yes they apply too..
His exact words " Yes.. these games qualify for our policy because we have offered to sell them at the price on the sticker on the front of the game and we have overcharged the customer. We refund all of the money and as a goodwill gesture we let the customer keep the goods" What a nice man. I only wish ALL managers had his customer service skills :T

So for anyone else that's niave enought NOT to argue back when double scanned :embarasse .. YES the R&R apparently does apply to double scans as well.. grrrr I am annoyed for not making more of a stand.. :o

thought I'd share that gem of info with you all ;)

  • Quick question.

If I bought King King twice and one was labelled and the other not. And I was overpriced then would they refund both? Surely they cant only refund one as they are exactly the same game. I havent tried it yet but just wanted to know out of curiousity!
    Thanks

If you were overcharged on both, then they should refund on both.....They may query why you want two of the same game....Presents for nephews would be my answer.....

There seems to be a recurring theme to this thread. People come and go, newbies join etc, but the fundamental ethos cycles over and over. People are just being blatantly greedy and do with out a shadow of doubt take the pi##.
People do abuse the policy regardless of the rights or wrongs of being overcharged.
The moment you step out your front door and activelly seek items that are overpriced you should adopt the attitude of win some lose some.
There are a lot of people on this board these days who will ultimately cry over every deceitful act they caught out on.
Get a grip of yourselves and grow up.

My local Mr T's has got the PS2 Game of the Week as Reservoir Dogs. Can someone tell me if this is the current deal or an outdated offer please?

Is it impossible for you to post on this subject without making insults.....I admit that most people "exploit" the policy.....but so what....I replied to your original post earlier on and you havent as yet put up any argument against my reply.

RUBBISH It isn't a privilege....as Tesco's openly offer this policy.....It's a RIGHT....... Tescos protect themselves from prosecution by administrating this policy.....Its just that this is such a big cockup, that they're having second thoughts......and as the majority appear to be getting full RnR's, then custom and practice should dictate that everyone else does as well.

you're quite correct, Tescos have made a statement in the shops to say they will 'give you free items'

HOWEVER, this statement was envisioned so that old grannies can get refunds on their bananas, etc

you're right, it is a !!!! up, BUT, tescos didnt intend for 1000's of people to hunt down misprices and demand free goods

it's a privelage that Tescos have let us do this, and get away with it for so long, some of the attitudes you lot are taking are ensuring it won't be around for much longer, or that other supermarkets will adopt the policy any time soon

NO OTHER SUPERMARKETS OFFER FREE GOODS ON OVERCHARGES
so why aren't you moaning about ASDA, KWICK SAVE, etc, etc, the reason, because you can't get FREE stuff, thats why

    can you define how please?

Surely this is a hypercritical statement? If you visit these boards it implies that you too are after r+r's and therfore are one of these selfish people you desribe?

Your question is the wrong way around. It should be why should anyone sit back and take being bullied by a giant corporation? If I bought 99 products and the 100th one was illegally priced, I would take exaclty the same action as I am now, no matter what the price. In fact I have already instigated a Trading Standars inspection, an ASA inquiry, and threatened a court claim all over a refusal of refund of £4.16 on CapriSun. The principle is important to me, it seems it is not the principle but the money that matters more to you.
I will not post any more on this subject as it will clog the boards. If you disagree with what I write here then we simply have different viewpoints. Neither of us is right or wrong.

Tried (unsuccessfully!) to keep out of this but feel I have to comment on this. I think you are taking this waaaayyyyyy too seriously, if you don't mind me saying (I'm sure you DO mind, but I'll live with that  ). This is NOT life and death, it's a GAME, should be a bit of fun and if you are going to Tesco with a view to getting R&R armed with the info 99.9% of Tesco shoppers don't have, then you really should have a bit of humility when it sort of blows up in your face. Seriously, to threaten a court claim for £4.16 of Capri Sun is really quite silly IMO, will only serve to get you noticed (NOT a good idea, btw) and maybe contribute to spoiling the fun for the rest of us. Treat it like a hobby that lets you eat nice stuff, etc. Take a chill pill, like bleugh (quite rightly) says, you win some, you lose some. Live to fight another day and all that.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
