That second POS indicates that the discount is on the game only. The first one, however, seems to read that it's on the bundle. The receipt seems to say it's on the bundle. I've not seen that second POS in any stores near me. Is that on the poster? If so, I think we have different posters around here.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

The second pic is part of a larger A4 poster which I think has that week's games chart on it (we just zoomed in on the part of the poster that mattered). There are normally several of these posters - Xbox360 chart, PS2 chart, Nintendo DS chart, etc.

I don't see how Tesco can say the discount is on the game only, as both POS's clearly indicate that you need to buy the game and the console in order to get the discount.

I'm the opposite, have not seen the first POS at any stores near me, all my local stores just have the poster.

I disagree. The second pic shows that the discount is on the game of the week.

"Game of the Week - Prey - Save £20 when you buy with an Xbox 360 console"

Unlike the first pic, the second pic says you save £20 on the game when you buy it with an Xbox 360. The first pic says "& game". The ampersand makes all the difference. It implies that the discount is on the bundle, not just the game. In my opinion, if both are displayed, it's misleading. If the first one is displayed on its own, it's misleading. If the second one is displayed on its own, it's not misleading. However, Prey is no longer the game of the week and the discount won't work if you buy it (and that poster is still up). Therefore, you should still get an R&R.

and people like this is the reason why i'll no longer post big R+R on this board. R+R is a privelage, NOT a right, if you're lucky enough to get one then, great, if you get refused a couple of times, get a life, give up
what goes around comes around, and people like you deserve what you've got coming (which is usually nothing)

RUBBISH It isn't a privilege....as Tesco's openly offer this policy.....It's a RIGHT....... Tescos protect themselves from prosecution by administrating this policy.....Its just that this is such a big cockup, that they're having second thoughts......and as the majority appear to be getting full RnR's, then custom and practice should dictate that everyone else does as well.

I'm willing to find my own r+rs, I'm not so lazy I have to rely on this board.

I disgaree with you though. Think of any goods or services you pay for. Any policy or terms relating to that good or service ARE a right, not a privelidge.

If you subscribe to a DVD rental company and dont receive any DVDs you wouldnt just sit back and say 'oh well...you win some you lose some' would you? It is your right to receive them!

If you bought something from a shop whose policy was to offer a guarantee that went above and beyond the law, and you bought the product because of that guarantee, you are saying you would totally accept it if they refused to actually implement that guarantee? That to me would be false advertising and misleading you, as well as breach of contract.

What you are saying is that you would rather not report their illegal activities because you personally benefit from it with the possibility of more R+R's, never mind the 000's of other people being overcharged who don't know about r+r.

An analogy for this is to witness a car accident and the purpotrator bribing you not to be a witness so he doesnt have to pay up on the insurance. You both get a good deal, but what about the victim?

As I said before, I beleive that its in Tescos interest to keep the R+R policy in any event, and if they get huge fines I beleive they would be more likely to take extra care with it in the future. This would benefit all parties.

I beleive I have expressed my opinions clearly, so please can you do the same rather than resorting to personal atatcks like a playground bully whose fists do all the articulating for him. Quotes such as 'get a life' and 'people like you deserve what you've got coming ' just harm your credibility on these boards...besides you don't even know me!
  • Can't see this 'policy' lasting too much longer. Must be costing them an absolute fortune. What about other retailers? Do they not have R&R policies? Are they more open to prosecution by not having this policy? Custom and practice will dictate that due to the cost and the greediness of some R&R 'ers that Tesco's will fall in line with the remainder of retailers and just offer refunds on any misprices.

I dont think they will abolish the policy as it helps them identify misprices quickly (well it should;) )
But they have the policy and should adhere to it. I and many others here have been fobbed off with the xbox and rather than others here being behind them some are actually having a go at them for fighting for thier rights! I thought part of the whole point of this site was fighting for your rights and not getting ripped off?
I am not greedy, all I want is what I am entitled to and I will do what ever it takes for me to get this.
If you are worried that the policy will be abolished and you wont be able to get your free crisps, chocolate and pasta sauce then you are the selfish ones.
Why not get behind your fellow board members?

RnR ers are only a small precentage of Tescos customers.....what about the much larger percentage of customers who pay over the odds for all these reduced items without checking their bills or bothering to return the goods.....I would imagine Tescos knowingly make more from these individuals than lose from RnR'ers............
