do you really think that such a big organisation such as tesco would be beaten in court by some of you guys? especially for a technical error which can happen to ANY human being or computer. And I am sure that as soon as tesco found out about their mistake they took the posters down and acording to their legal team r & rd in accordince with the law! If the overcharge was just on the game, then they are following the correct r & r procedure if they are giving the £10/£20 back and also the game, arent they??
It isn't a technical error though....I reported one of the first of these incidents 10 days ago, and the posters are still up, and they're still giving full RnR's.....I think you should start at the beginning of this debate...(around post 580 in the previous discussion thread(7)) and read through it, as everything you have said here has been mentioned and debated before today.....0 -

oh but i have, and is there not a couple of people on here that have spoken to customer services who have given the FINAL word which is it is on the game?? Or have just misread some of it? mmm...
and yes some people have been give full rnrs but was that not on the saturday when it was first found out? and staff and managers obviously were doing what they thought was best until they found out from ho what they wanted to be done?
Just a thought and an opinion0 -

No you havent misread it, but Tescos have been giving different answers daily on this episode. It may be true that this is the "final word"....but if you look at a receipt posted a day or so ago, you will see that the discount clearly comes off the combined package.....not just the game.......and if you look at yesterday and todays postings, you will see that RnR's are still being given and the offending posters/sels are still up in some stores. An email was apparently sent to all stores last week, obviously some stores chose to ignore it.0 -
Delighted to report that I got a full R+R of £319.93 today on Xbox 360 bundle pack and Prey. It was in the Trent Vale branch near Newcastle Under Lyme.
Prey was advertised as Game of the Week on the A4 poster next to the games, but the poster was out of date, so the £20 discount didn't come off at the till.
It took a fair bit of arguing for around 20 mins. At first the lady on the CS desk tried to fob us off by offering us the £20 discount. We refused and she called the manager who made several frantic calls to someone on his mobile while he hurriedly pulled down all the POS material (but luckily we'd already taken photographs of it all). He then offered us the game for free, but we rightly argued that the £20 discount was for the console AND the game, not just the game. I felt sorry for the poor guy actually, as he knew Tesco was in the wrong, and he just kept stuttering and didn't have any defence when we pointed at the "Our Promise" policy written on the wall. We just stood our ground for ages and eventually they gave the full R+R.
My advice to everyone looking for this R+R is to keep persevering and to visit as many branches as you can. Look for the A4 poster which offers Game of the Week, and in the top right hand corner it gives the date for when the poster is supposed to be displayed. For example, today the poster said "week commencing 25 August", so we immediately knew we were onto something.
We're absolutely over the moon. This is the holy grail of R+R! Many thanks to everyone on here who's already given advice on this.0 -

Excellent, any chance of putting your photos of the posters and the sels on here. I got refused on almost identical grounds to these.......0 -
I would so love to do this Xbox r&r, and its still the old prey poster in my one local store, but I'm just too chicken to front it...Hello :j  :j0

I am fed up with Tesco Customer services....they really are shambolic! I have been emailing them trying to get a straight answer about PSP refund. I just don't get how they can be so inconsistent with so many people getting R+Rs but so many other people being refused....0

As said many times....Tescos are so inconsistent with this, you may just get a full RnR without any hassle at all.0 -
hebangsthedrums wrote:My local store in Northampton had a sign up today saying 'buy an XBOX 360 / PS2 with game of the week and get £20 off', or something along those lines. Will the discount come off if I buy an xbox with the ps2 GOTW, and if it does not will i be due an r&r. Also does constantine, sp2k or any others no when the game of the week changes as i actually want an xbox but not with that shoddy gta rip off thats GOTW presently
Another interesting slant on the way the offer can be interpreted!
I would guess that if you mix the discount will not work, but who knows!
The offers have been changing on Friday's.
The poster that allowed my refund today was dated 25th Aug. Current ones should be dated 1st September. I was certain of my R & R today as they had out of date POS material on display. I also used a double points coupon with my purchase. Its use appeared on my receipt but no additional points appeared. I retreived the coupon from the till and got CS to add them for me manually (before getting my refund). Later whilst waiting for the duty manager the other CS lady said that sometimes they take a few days to appear so I might end up getting a third lot!Keep SmilingSite member number 24
