  • I agree 100%.
If tesco countrywide were all treating customers the same then I would bow down and accept it but after being no more than fobbed off all week it makes me more determined. The main reason they are giving is that the discount only comes off the game, if the reciept posted a few days ago had stated that then I would have given up, but no, it states clearly that the discount is applied to both products as a package, therefore I and many others have been fobbed off in the hope we will give up and go away.
    Sorry Tesco, not gonna happen

I personally am not giving up on my xbox refund. It is simply unnaceptable for such a big chain with such a public image to vary how they implement their price promise from one person to another.

I will take my complaint to the highest levels including TS and ASA, and then small claims court. To me, the price promse baord at CS is a contract that has been broken.

I know some people take the 'your ruining it for the rest of us' stance but I disagree. Theres no such thing as win some / lose soe in this case. For people claiming back their illegally taken bank charges its a similar situation...you wouldnt just sit back and accept it the first time they refused you a refund would you!

I think that a load of hefty fines from trading standards will have the opposite efefct to what some think; rather than them pulling the policy I think they will re-train all staff to ensure they give R+R where one is due. Thiswill imprve their public image, and keep their pricing policy vigilant and legal whilst avoiding TS fines.

and people like this is the reason why i'll no longer post big R+R on this board. R+R is a privelage, NOT a right, if you're lucky enough to get one then, great, if you get refused a couple of times, get a life, give up
what goes around comes around, and people like you deserve what you've got coming (which is usually nothing)
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

I do have great sympathy with those who've been refused an R+R on the same grounds. I agree that it's ridiculous not to have one nationwide policy on the matter.
My R&R was for Prey & a 360 from a poster dated w/c 1st September. I wonder where they got that from?!?

That's strange. Maybe they have a rotational system for Game of the Week which varies by store. All the more reason for us all to keep checking as many stores as we can!

Excellent, any chance of putting your photos of the posters and the sels on here. I got refused on almost identical grounds to these.......

Definitely. They're on my other half's mobile phone at the moment so I'll get her to forward them to me and post them on here later today.

Yes, you can definitely get a full refund if they won't give an R+R, provided you haven't opened the boxes. But don't give up easily on your argument for an R+R - it usually takes a lot of persuasion!

Does anyone have any idea if Tesco can have the correct poster up (GOTW Saints Row, week commencing 01/09/06) but it still scan incorrectly? Are their systems updated nationwide or do stores update their systems individually?

It seems from previous posters that Saints Row will have the discount applied so no R&R

    Thanks, thats what I thought.

My OH took back an xbox to this store a few days ago though and they went to refund him £320 instead of £300, so I was wondering if this store hadn't updated their system or something. Was going to give it a try today but I'll probably just wait until friday now - with the hope of catching an old poster up! ;)
