  • This is getting ridiculous.
Tesco told me lastnight that the FINAL word on it is that the discount is off the game only, this was brought to thier attention well over a week ago and still they are treating others differently today and people are getting refunds TODAY!!! People say that when the discount does come off it states on the reciept that the discount comes off the package (although we are yet to see a copy of a recipt stating that)
Please, somebody post a copy of the reciept so we can all see once and for all what it says. this will help our cases that have been refused. This xbox discussion has been going on long enough now and I know many of you are bored of it but, many of us are in the same situation as me. I will not be giving up just yet

fai comment cheepskate....i can totally see what you are saying...as i have mentioned in a previous post... about people that are over-charged and dont know it...and how i feel its our duty to do r & r's to stop other people being over charged by tescos..

but what i am saying...they will honour their price promise on one thing but not another....what iwas getting at.. was i am sure they refund more on meat over a period of time than they would the the xbox...blip....i know it will go down as waste etc... and would be written off in tax etc..

    it was a general thought..

If only life were so simple !!! :j

It really does depend on the security setup !

An employer is liable for negligence of employee in the course of employment

An employer can avoid being liable themselves if they show either.....

    ....employee was not negligent
or .... employee was acting in his own right, not as directed in his job.... in which case, the emplyer would then not be liable... the employee would

I’m going to try to stay out of the whole theft/fraud dispute but there’s always one little misconception I have to put straight. With a very small exception 95% of Tesco stores employ ‘in-house’ security officers. This means we are managed and operated by Tesco and exempt from licensing. SIA licensing only applies to contacted security where services are contracted out to a third-party.

Security also have the same legal powers of arrest as any citizen. Not having a license does not mean you can’t take action towards people committing an offence.

The majority of security guards I see in Tesco are 'outsiders'.
I think it is Reliance Security, but don't quote me on that!
  • just imagine how much the meat mis-price r & r cost them

The difference is they will bully the farmers/distributors into paying for their mistake on the meat.

I somehow doubt they'll be able to bully Gem Distribution (on behalf of Microsoft) into paying for the xboxes they have 'lost'.

Free PSP and game from the tesco at wrexham yesterday. Feeble attempt by CS to give me the tenner discount but after pointing to the sign there was no argument and the very nice chappie on the desk gave me a full R&R.

Just to confirm - if a store has Saints Row as "Game of the Week" - the discount will work on a 360 so no possibility of R&R. Do all stores have the same game of the week? Or do some still have Prey - if so, need to find a london one with Prey!

bkm - is the PSP game of the week Cars at your store?

With the mince that I got 2 packs free at the misprice of £1.75, SEL £1.45. The labels were taken down and it is happily selling at £1.75. I dont think that cost them too much at all. Which is the 'real' price, because £1.75, would seem to be.

Most of the meat and books and CD's dont seem to have SELs at the moment. I wonder why????

Got Vulcan 607 R&R at Hastings today. Not much else there though. Spent about 20 minutes in the DVD isle as I was shopping without SWMBO which ment that I could buy myself a CD or DVD. Could not find anything I liked save V607 and left the isle, only to notice that I was being followed all around the store by two plain clothes people with no shopping basket or trolley, so I can only guess that they were security trying to put the "scarries" on me.

I even spent about ten minutes in the beer isle, trying to decide on the best buy to take to a mates BBQ tonight, and they were there all the time too, one at each end, and together in the middle. Felt like saying something but thought better of it.

Still got the R&R though and CS alerted someone on the radio about it who is apparently going around the store checking all prices ;-(.

BTW the XBOX chart now details this weeks game of the week (Saint something or other) so no R&R there.

    RE: previous misprices:

Gordon ramsay book scanning corectly nationally
Martini scanning correctly in my store
All cds correctly labelled in my store

Capri Sun: The strawberry and vanilla flavour is apparently 'not included in the offer' of 2 packs for £3.30. This is national. All other flavours work in the special offer. Althugh the huge poster and small signs dont mention flavour, just "2 for £3.30 | Five alive or capri sun 10 pack". Groceries manager refused me a refund no matter how much I pointed out the lack of flavours mentiuoned on signs.

I am absolutely furuioius about it. That plank of a manager would rather risk ££££ fines from TS than give a £4.16 refund in accordance with his policy!!! :( I am making severe complaints about this.
