ella2002 wrote:Mcdonag where has your total gone
I took it off as certain people were accusing me of boasting and caused a lot of grief the other day.
As I am fairly new to all this R&R milarky, I noticed that a few other posters had a total, so I just followed suit.
I didn't reckon on some people getting irate about it and someone PM'd me the other day to say that he got banned. A security guard for tesco's went beyond the call of duty to work out who he was by dechiphering his posts on the misprices thread and working out that it was his store he was R&Ring from.
So I reckoned it was best to keep a low profile for a bit.

with the meat, I was a little confused trying to get r&r on meat, but
I got it, and now getting it regular, lol.
If the sel per kg is lower than the pack price per kilo, and is not stickered, this should go through at the higher price, therefore r&r
Hope this helps, as it confused me for ages.I AM WHAT I AM0 -

Don't go down the pedantic route of correcting grammar in posts.
Why not anyway it improves the standard of English. Some of the spelling and grammar is very poor!
Also, he wasn't correcting grammer, he was correcting spelling.0 -
Constantine wrote:So you buy it elsewhere, take it in to Tesco, get a refund, buy it again as part of a package with a console and then get that refunded as an r & r?
I'll have a pint of whatever the Dude is on
Oh dear - I'm sorry Constantine
I meant - but the game for £20 from somewhere else - go to tesco with the game - grab a console - buy both - get R&R.
Hey Presto - console and game for £20.

Thanks Orangelily, can I ask you an example?
If the SEl says £6.77 per kilo, and the label says £7.77 per kilo giving a total packet price of £3.50 based on the £7.77, would that be an R&R if I was charged £3.50? I was wondering how you could argue it when its got the price charged actually on the item? DO you have to explain price per kilos each time to the staff and surely they must be aware that you know its going to go through at that price?
Thanks for the help, I know that newbies questions can be a bit annoying to the accomplished R&Rers, perhaps I'm just a bit slow on the uptake:undecided0 -

Supermarket giant <A href="http://www.tesco.com/">Tesco has been fined thousands of pounds for misleading shoppers about the cost of its wine.
The chain was convicted of two counts of giving misleading price indications, and asked for a further 15 offences to be taken into consideration.
Liskeard Magistrates' Court, in Cornwall, heard how a trading standards officer found signs at stores in Truro and St Austell which falsely claimed it was cheaper to buy a case of wine than six individual bottles.
The promotional signs stated: 'Case deal. Always cheaper than six single bottles' and: 'Six for less'. However, for four wine brands, it was more expensive to buy a case. These lines have since been withdrawn from sale.
Magistrates fined Tesco GBP 2,300 for each count and ordered the company to pay almost GBP 4,000 in costs.
Tesco should be capable of getting prices right
Cornwall's trading standards department brought the prosecution. Its head, Dave Phillips, said: 'A company like Tesco, with its sophisticated IT and checking systems, should be capable of getting its prices right.
'The magistrates have given their judgment and this particular matter is now closed. However, we will be working with colleagues in Hertfordshire, who interface with Tesco's head office on behalf of all trading standards authorities, to ensure that a similar lack of control doesn't happen again.'
A Tesco spokesman said: 'We reduce prices on thousands of products each week to ensure the best value for our customers. Unfortunately, on this occasion we didn't adjust the case price to reflect the new lower single bottle price.
'We have reviewed our process and re-briefed staff to make sure this doesn't happen again.'
Earlier this year, we caught Tesco advertising bottles of Wynns Michael Shiraz on its website for GBP 9.75 each, but trying to charge customers double after they'd already ordered it at that price and received an order confirmation.
The company's small print says that if it has 'underpriced' an item by mistake, it can change the price as long as it informs customers before delivery. Although our lawyers concluded Tesco's terms were legal, we told it that its order 'confirmation' was misleading if it wasn't really a confirmation of the price.
OOOOO thats near me, im in cornwall, and the truro store is 5 mins from me :rotfl:0 -

If the SEL says 6:77 a Kg, that is the advertised price. So if the pack is a higher price per Kg, you have been charged more than the advertised price ie - its an overcharge. Forget the fact the pack has an individual (or "catchweight") price, it is the "Price Per" that matters.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

My advice - keep trying - see it as a game - if it's no longer fun don't do it - but you will find mis-prices sooner rather than later!

Totally agree. That's exactly as I see it - a game. Sometimes I have successes, sometimes I fail. it's not worth getting het up about when a r+r is refused. Just put it down as a bad day, and tomorrow might be a good one.
Overall, the beauty of the game for me is that, in my case, its a game in which both Tesco and I come out as winners. Sometimes I get free food - haven't managed anything other than food yet, and Tesco's now get my custom whereas if they didn't have the r+r policy I'd never shop there, as I have several other supermarkets which are nearer to where I live.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
Hi, asked this on the wrong board. I'll try here...
Does anybody know where there is a Tesco's with self scan facilities near me (East London, Essex). I'd feel more comfortable knowing the price was wrong than assuming.
ThanksWhen I say 'I', that can mean 'we' or even 'he' :rolleyes:0
