Does anybody know where there is a Tesco's with self scan facilities near me (East London, Essex). I'd feel more comfortable knowing the price was wrong than assuming.
Thanks

Not sure how far into Essex you are willing to travel, but I got R&R on a motorola slvr and two beef joints yesterday at the Basildon tesco on the Mayflower Trading Estate.
Scanner is in the middle of aisle 9 - and it is quite a quiet store so you are able to scan at leasure.0 -
Hi, I hope this helps someone who is new, as I am quite new and I understand it can be confusing. Once you have the hang of spotting a misprice i.e. the price on the shelf says, for instance, £1 off per kilo, and the pack price is not showing the discount, you can check it on the instore scanner which most larger stores have one, maybe two. They are blue and usually stuck to a pillar in the store. The ones in our tesco are by the bread and in the crisps isle.
When I go to the customer services I always say" Excuse me, I have just bought this joint of beef (or whatever it is) and the shelf has got a label saying they are on special offer, but this pack has still been charged at the higher price and the discount has not been taken off" with a doe eyed look like I wouldn't be capable of doing this all the time. I have always been given a full refund and have only once encountered a woman saying she wanted to just give me the difference. I pointed out politely the policy on the poster and after going to "check with another member of staff" she kindly gave me the refund.
I do look for the mobile phones and the xbox and laptops, but am quite happy to get a couple of bits of meat now and again.
I would say make sure the meat that you have definately matches with the offer that is displayed, and if you buy something and you got it wrong, just ask customer services for a refund.
I hope this helps someone who is new to all this, as it is a bit daunting sometimes reading this forum!Oh no, not you again!:money:0 -

When they give a refund I don't think they're telling the computer who bought the item originally, just the fact that a valid receipt exists for it.
If my theory is correct, anyone looking through the Clubcard records of a serial R+Rer would simply have them down as a high spender, as they don't have the information available to see that most it got refunded.
You missed the point of my comment. I never said the clubcard shows your refunds. It does, however, show your purchases. So, if you buy 4 Xbox 360 consoles in one day and use your clubcard each time, that can be seen by Tesco. See?In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Yes. And what's the problem there? Surely they love people spending large amounts of money in their stores.0 -
Hi there
New to all this.
I am working on the assumption that I should only really trawl through the last couple of pages of misprices, as the others from earlier dates would have been corrected by now....
I mean they do don't
thanks

Yes the last couple of pages should do it as they are usually removed once someone has been in that store and realised they have been overcharged. I always go for the recent ones, make a list of misprices from the forum, and take it along with you when you go to do your shopping. If you see something overpriced that is on your list, take it to a scanner and check it. Pay or it, then take it back.
Easy peasy x:DOh no, not you again!:money:0
