Hi sunnyday and thanks for the well wishes!

hasnt been the greatest 6 months or so ...but in a strange way it has all come together in a way that has made me re-focus on life and on my priorities...!0 -
just thought Id update to keep myself motivated!!

grocery shopping- so far for the month we have spent about £125 so am aiming to spend less than £70 for the next 20days - should be doable as we have most staples in and am using up lots in the freezer this week!
still on the food front- got given some free apples which I have cooked , some in the fridge for healthy snack (or with custard...mmmmm...) and some in the freezer which I will defrost and make crumble with at some point!
managed a night in with free blockbusters film and 2 bags of chocolate for £2.50 which I thought was a MSE bargain quite frankly! (and there are still some left!)
have been borrowing books from the library- the amount I used to spend on amazon or in bookshops for books I only ever read once is shocking! may also try RISI as I know a few people on here have found it really good
have started xmas planning- been able to pick up a few real bargains for xmas pressies and also thru looking through the freebies/low spend boards- amazing what you can get if you hunt for it!
have made the most of my union benefits including a free will making service- feels a bit morbid, but I think I have started to think about how awful it would be if something happened and then it was left to someone else to clear up a mess financially etc..
have also checked my savings accounts rates (not that I have much in there!) which are shocking 0.5% for an ISA and 0.1% for instant access savings- will definitely be moving these !
my MF plan is still in the forefront in terms of my goals for moneysaving..... this has been topped up with things like amazon sales, recycling mobiles, using freebies boards, recycling presents, meal planning , using clubcard points for days out etc so we have still had some fun ... I actually feel quite proud of us for managing ,which has made me realise how little it is possible to live on if needed which will get us closer to the MF goal!!

:T Wow you have done so much since your last post. I'm very impressed you have sorted out a will I have done nothing about mine
Plan is to sell my house and BF's house and then buy one together , in the middle of where we both work. He has only had 1 viewing as well since May. I don't think they will sell this year as it's getting near Christmas (after usually 6 week process). But you've got to be in the market to win itMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hey Radish
thanks- I have been doing a lot and surviving! its frustrating not to really be able to make any OPs though
re: selling, sounds like these are difficult times to sell, but as you say if your not on the market you wont get anything! I can go round in circles re: the house prices debate! will prob get it valued after xmas and make the decision from there...
good luck selling yours and BFs flats

Hi TYO,
I was a supporter of yours until I read through the 6th September entry! Boiled Apple and Custard was mentioned and it's still a couple of hours until lunchtime so you're properly in the bad books as my stomach is now shouting...
Really impressed with how much you're doing. Sometimes I forget that there's so much more than just plodding along every month is a relatively dull but straightforward fashion! We've just had a clearout so I've decided to have a crack at selling some of the stuff we don't use anymore. I may work up the courage to ask M to review the CDs and DVDs as they are potentially another source of a few quid and we've managed to accumulate some real turkeys in our time!
Cheers,

probably wouldnt make it any better to tell you I have just finished off the apples which I made into crumble with custard!
mmmmm.....
and free- as the apples came free and we already had the custard in the cupboard! man I am so easily pleased!
yeah it does feel quite a nice achievement to be able to raise money other ways - good luck with the de-clutter!

Hi TYO,
Just been catching up on your thread, sorry things have been so hard recently. It sounds like you are doing so well with everything, I can't believe you have made £1K stretch as long as you have. As soon as you start earning again you will be off to a flying start on your MFW journey.
As for apple crumble, I had apple and blackcurrent for tea. Lovely:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Mortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640 -
