Morning all
Radish- Its not the 300K house I mind- in fact I am quite partial to the idea
its the idea of that big a mortgage I object to! as long as we work hard to pay ours down then Im quite happy to get a big lovely house! :rotfl: Yep am hoping my savings plan will work - I need to be more disciplined with impulse buys I think (usually small but all add up) so thats my target mainly- once my allowance for the month is out, no touching the cash cards!
Baby Steps- thanks , after a pretty rubbish year in parts it feels like a good achievement to be where I am now - I hope it pays off but of course never really know what life will throw at us, I do feel much more in control of my finances tho rather than vice versa which is good and a big relief I think. May the brainwashing and OPing continue into 2011! here's to a good year for us both eh?
Mw - ah yes, havent forgotten about the exercise challenge! (much as I would like to! ) I have located the fitness dvds I own and need to buy some new trainers in the new yr (probably out of £100 crazy clothes challenge so that could be interesting!) Am thinking perhaps a mon/wed/fri or mon/wed/thurs routine for me! but have a couple of weeks to plan (its the doing thats the problem! :rotfl:) I know I feel better when Im exercising tho so need to establish some kind of habit/routine.
Yep Im in on the clothes challenge- would welcome any tips you have as it suddenly seems like a lot to stretch- am very impressed you have money left at the end of the yr! am thinking of swapping with friends too as a way of getting "new" clothes- I think quite a few would be up for it if I add a bottle of wine and nibbles to the mix!
Finish work today till Jan- really busy day and lots to do but am sooooo ready for a rest!! Xmas shall be a rest from money-thinking , (maybe....altho this OPing lark does get addictive
) but I will try and do some sales bargain hunting for clothes and also next yrs pressie stash- looks like there could be some bargains to be had!!
rite- better go and get ready for work rather than posting on here!! :rotfl: hope everyone has a good day ..just think only a few more sleeps now till xmas!!0 -
My heart says £300K but then my mind gains control and imagines the extra money needed to pay back a bigger mortgage :rotfl:
Plus nowt wrong with looking (apart from the sellers thinking that someone is interested in buying their house)
I finish work today as well until Jan, think everyone is getting slightly annoyed with my countdown but I have just told them I have eaten my last dinner at work for this year
Only 1 more meeting, 1 more mid afternoon coffee, 1 more mince pie to eat blah, blah blah
Clothes shopping I have to say I have been very impressed with Mr T clothes, cheap £1 for a white T-shirt and it still look good even after being washed loadsMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

I'd love a bigger house of course but its not the price that puts me off its the more room to clean lol
I am going to be more disciplined with putting money aside next year, have already started putting £15 a month away for kids school trips as DD has a trip thats £120 for 3 nights away plus others. I am thinking about putting £15 away for xmas/bdays too and maybe doing my car insurance in one lump and putting the monthly payments over but I think that only saves me about £20 over the year so not sure I want the hassle of changing that over.
As for clothes shopping I cant wait for the sales but I am a charity shop queen in that department
anyway wanted to pop in and say
A merry xmas and successful 2011

Am so blessed to have such fantastic people in my life and xmas really makes me aware of that ...

Glad to hear you had a great Christmas with lots of lovely presents
We haven't decided about New Year either, I quite fancy a quiet New Year so might persuade BF to buy some picky bits and stay in and watch some DVD's that we got for ChrimboMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
