    but not disimilar to me
I think this adversity will have an upside, and it is high time for a change for me... I would love to get into a much more creative field (or even do something self employed with it eventually) ...
its nice to read you have been through this hard treatment and are now feeling more confident,..

so I guess Ill say goodbye for a while (tho I will probably still lurk and read a little bit but going to try and limit myself! :) ) - would someone mind housesitting my house in lewis lane until around november time? ...I shall be off enjoying myself (cheaply of course) in the sun for the rest of the summer! (here's hoping we get some)

    tyo

Hope you have it sorted soon - and we look forward to welcoming you back when you can!!!

    Take care!

thanks for sharing your experience with me , sounds incredibly difficult but not disimilar to me (there are lots suggesting I should take it to ET but quite frankly I cant do with the extra stress that I know that would cause...I just want out and to build my confidence up again)

I think this adversity will have an upside, and it is high time for a change for me...in fact I have ordered a few prospectus's as I would love to get into a much more creative field (or even do something self employed with it eventually) ...will have to combine this with work , but am happy to do any kind of work as long as it pays the bills..with the ultimate goal of working towards something which will make me happy!

its nice to read you have been through this hard treatment and are now feeling more confident, due to the treatment/work situation I feel I have zero confidence in a field I had worked hard for and was high up and respected in terms of my experience and work...it feels like all that has been shattered, but in my heart I also know it is time to move on from it..

    Hello again,
Yes, a very similar situation. It was the threat of an ET which secured a satisfactory settlement for me and has paid for my studies. I wouldnt have relished the prospect of an ET, but I'd have gone for it if necessary. But the experience left me crushed in more ways than you'd imagine and it's taken me a year to recover, so be kind to yourself - it's still early days for you.

Good luck finding something more creative! This sounds exciting! Along the way, you will probably discover more about yourself and your capabilities, which will make for a more rewarding life than working for people who treat you badly. And anything with the potential for self-employment sounds very attractive cos secretly, I think we all want to be masters of our our own destiny.

Whatever you choose, remember... You still have the qualities which earned you respect and success in your field, and you will find that these will be transferrable to whatever new direction you choose.

    Keep us posted,
    QB

I wanted to say too I read through your diary and found it really helpful to see how much you have been able to do and save in this kind of a situation.... ...I look forward to being able to come back here though with a much smaller mortgage and some kind of balance in my life ...(note to self , figures out what balance is) :rotfl:

Hi again, yes, I'd recommend study as an excellent confidence rebuilder.

One of my directors had said i was incapable of learning, which as you may imagine sowed numerous doubts in my mind. However, as I have just achieved a distinction in the first year of my masters (plus I already had a degree and a higher degree under my belt), I can safely say, he was talking out his a**e.

The injustice may take longer to dissipate, mainly I think, cos we expect people to behave honourably. I have to say that more than a year down the line, it'd give me considerable pleasure if I heard my old company had gone down the pan. That doesn't make me a bad person, just human!! :rotfl:.

Okay I know I said I was gonna have a break (mw how is the limiting time on here going? ;o) )

money saving wise I have been to the library and got loads of books I wanted to read rather than spending money on amazon...forgot how good and FREE library books were! ;o)
mw I am also gonna look into RISI to see if that can also get me freebies!
am gonna suggest to family/friends I buy pressies for at xmas that we set a limit or make something- I for one love sentimental gifts, my siblings are saving to buy first home and friends are also effected by credit crunch etc so I think it will be well recieved and not feel too stingy!
food shopping we have stuck at £170 for the last month for two of us , this includes some random spends at M&S!

  • Hi

Sorry to hear your news. Hopefully mrtyo will be better soon. Maybe you need to take a step backwards to go forwards again and just having one house is the way forward for the time being. Would that make you mortgage free if you only had one house.

    Please don't be a stranger.

    Hi TYO

Sorry things are stressful right now and I don't know the answer to the house selling I'm afraid. Just wanted to send you a virtual piece of cake and cup of tea and say that all things pass. Hope MrTYO is still on the mend and that you are begining to feel a bit calmer
