    i will go to the bank and keep my fingers crossed. i have also wrote to watchdog, and feel that if everybody on here did the same, surely they would come a cropper?

    This company is a thief never delivered any services . I don't recommend Worldwide to anyone. Do not give you card details. I had a problem with them they took my money and never give any services. My bank couldn't protect me at all.
  • That's exactly what happened to me! This "Stacey" promised me all sorts of great things on the phone and I agreed (Facebook advert). Long story short: I found out she lied to me plus after the trial month (which I cancelled via email) I agreed to get details send via email for an even better and cheaper deal ( THAT I did mainly to shut this annoyingly persistent man up). What happened: I got the email saying "Thanks for taking the new trial month- the money has gone through"!AArrrg! Of course I want all the money (£170) back now but as common no replay to my emails anymore. Yes, PLEASE send me copies of your letters and whatever on details of your story. How is this working here, do I have to tell you my email address in public? I just joined this forum because of this.Many thanks in advance!

    No need to be pessimistic. If a card merchant (WMS) has defrauded you, or misrepresented their offering in any material way, explain that fact to your bank in no uncertain terms. The bank is jointly liable for the product or service you purchased, and if they fail to refund your money, you can complain to the Ombudsman, who will order them to do so.

    The bank knows this, so in the end, they will either recharge the amount back to WMS, or simply take the loss themselves. If they recharge WMS, you can expect a few threatening letters from them, but always remember their business model is to scam lots of people, and intimidate the few that fight back. But actually taking legal action against you would open them up to all kinds of problems when they lose in court, so they'll balk at it in the end.

    Anyway, that's just my opinion, of course, but it's based on what happened in my case. If you need copies of my letters to the Bank etc., PM me with contact details, and I'll email you copies.

    unless you make glow in the dark cottage cheese, or you became famous over night you will not "instantly" hit the front page of google.com

    Many people who claim to be seo experts, "we will get you to no.1 spot or the front page of google in x day/weeks" is bending the truth.

    some tips for you guys and girls :) (or ladies and gents).

    *Targeted advertising is far more important.
    *branding your site outside of the internet - ie your stationary etc
    *single site advertising
    * correct content.
    *sites with flash correctly coded with hidden div with h2 content
    * any spend on adwords must be key-worded with your site correctly. Otherwise you will find your price per click goes up rapidly.
    * don't use a single advertising point, use multiple.
    * increase exposure.

    Hi,

    you seem to know what you are talking about, do you work in this line of business?

    Had issues with this company as well. They tried to charge my credit card for 4 months services. I tried to correspond with them telling them I did not sign up for 4 months by email (as stated in their terms and conditions!). Eventually after getting no joy I had to get my credit card company to contact the merchant as it was unauthorised. They then tried to intitiate another 4 months charge and a chargeback fee as well because my credit card company queried it! Again I have to query the transactions with my credit card company and they are dealing with it at the moment.

    My card company told me it was illegal for them to try and charge the £150 (plus VAT) chargeback fee and were referring it through to their fraud department who will take it further.

    I had to cancel the credit card and get them to reissue another to stop them trying to charge me again.

    My advice is don't got anyhwere near them, customer service is dreadful for this company. If you have been charged contact your bank/credit card company and get them to cancel your card and send you another (this will stop them taking further funds!).
  • I had a job interview with this company about a year ago when they were looking for web designers/developers. They offer you a free website if you buy the Google adwords. The website seemed rushed and not coded very well so don't be suckered in by the freebie. After reading this forum I'm glad I didn't get the job.

    So many brand new users seem attracted to this site because of this thread.

    Oddly, none seem to have a good word for the company in question, and what is equally odd to me is that the vast majority if not all, never appear to post on this site again.

    How odd is that? :cool:

    I think you'll find that virtually everyone that posts is, like me, running their own business and has been scammed by WMS. But despite being busy they take the time to post a message to warn others about the scam in the hope that it will help others avoid companies like Worldwide Marketing Solutions.

    What strikes me as odd is why you bothered to post a message to this forum when it doesn't seem to have contributed anything to anyone. You don't work for WMS by any chance do you?
  • Another newbie and another victim of WMS. I feel such a mug as I NEVER have anything to do with telephone cold calling but 2 days ago just after registering our new business I had call from someone claiming to be google offering me a deal to promote my company which seemed to good to be true. Hubbie was made redundant in Jan and desperate to try and do something we're opening a pet boarding service, I'm not really business minded and Im also not that savvy on the finer points of computer and techno terms so prime to be taken for a ride.

    I was sold a 2 years (extended to 3 year) google mobile advertising package with 1 months internet advertising that I could "turn on and off" as I wanted. I wasn't sure about the phone advertising but as I have a fair few friends that access the internet via their phones I thought it seemed a good idea and £150 for 3 years seemed worth a try so I signed up.
    I had a call the next day asking if I'd received my welcome pack..I said I'd had an Email with copy of payment but no welcome pack, the guy at WMS confirmed my email address and said he would sent it. (I'm still waiting). A short time later another guy phoned just to check everything was OK I said someone was arranging to send me the welcome pack and in the course of a lot of baffling terminology prior to ringing off he fleetingly mentioned something about 30 days cancellation notice. I
    Having still not recieved the welcome pack and terms this morning I followed the link to their site and was shocked to read the terms. AT no time during the initial call was any mention made to the monthly charges etc and as it was obvious that the company had misrepresented themselves to start with I contacted my bank.
    They have promised to stop any further payments going out and referred it to the card company to investigate. I phoned WMS and told them I was cancelling...they told me I couldn't as the cooling off period doesn't apply. I've Emailed them to cancel (the terms state it must be done via Email) and I'm waiting for Trading Standards to get back to me.
    Thanks to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to write about your experiences, following your advice I'll be making more calls tomorrow and will post again with any outcomes (good or bad)
