Now, time for an update.
Last week I listed 39 items on ebay, of which 21 sold yesterday :T So that's around £65 to my total.
I sold a book on amazon last weekend, which is another £2.10, and I listed about 6 more I think.
I redeemed yesterday £5 amazon voucher from bingoport which was down to a last minute bingo win - the moral of the story - redeem whilst you have the points otherwise they are easily frittered awayI had enough points at the weekend, but didn't redeem them then, and then promptly lost a lot of them
We did 3 boot sales at the weekend one each on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and over the three took almost £250 :T:T
Most of that was DH's and bits from the house, but I did manage to gain some cash too.
I've suggested to DH that we have a break from selling this weekend, unless we do the Saturday one by the coast where the sellers get in before the buyers. It's always a short one and it's a nice atmosphere so I don't mind that one. We may also do a later Sunday one, but not sure yet. We'll still be visiting them all for a mooch about though subject to the weather.
I may have purchased quite a few books though, so my to be read piles are still increasing. I have actually managed to read some though, so there are always more being added to sell again.
We took four boxes of stuff to charity at the start of the week so that's another load gone, and there is now a lot of space in the van so we can sort out some more to sell now.
Yesterday my lovely DH moved a load of stuff we don't use up into the loft, so that has cleared a nice bit of space, and he has sorted out two HUGE boxes of stuff which we need to check whether they are worth selling on ebay otherwise we will put them ready to car boot. :j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thought I'd better post that last message before I lost it all.
So, the plans for this weekend are to carry on with the decluttering and sort some more stuff out for booting. Maybe list a few bits on ebay. Just potter around the house some. DH is bound to want to go out at some point, but I am determined to have some house time too. We will also visit a number of boot sales (perhaps selling at one or two) depending on the weather. I got paid today, which is always nice
. Surprisingly I also got a small pay rise which is VERY welcome but unexpected :T:j:T
That should be an extra £60 -odd per month, though I won't be able to tell that until next month as I had a lot of expenses paid this month too which is unusual for me.
I haven't made any payments yet, as I was too busy packing ebay parcels this morning, but shall divide it all up later and see what I can pay where. It will be nice to adjust my siggie again, it seems a while since I've done anything."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've had £100 in amazon vouchers from bingoport and surveys this year - that's amazing! :j:j:j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Yes, I can agree with that, it stinks!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks guys, it's much appreciated having the support
:A
Eltee - I lurk on your diary too, there's nothing wrong with a bit of virtual stalking
Retiredandskint - do you have a diary?
No, I've thought about it but it wouldn't be interesting or motivational. I still spend more than we earn. For instance took out £100 today and spent it.
I'm still contemplating a new one, but think I might stay here for the time being. If I do start a new one, I shall pop a link in here.
Thanksexcellent , much better than expecting a small payrise and getting less !!! mucks up the spreadsheets no end!
Tell me about it my pension rise was less than I was expecting
Enjoy your carbooting this weekend whether selling or buying.0 -
I still spend too much too retiredandskint -I just keep trying to keep it down.
Sorry to hear about the pension rise, it's so disappointing.
You have a good weekend too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've paid off £400 today, £150 to my CC and £250 to DH loan. I haven't really thought through everything else yet, so not worked out the overpayments yet.
I'm going to do a decluttering list this weekend.
So far today:
1. Holey net curtain taken down and replaced - to textile bin
2. Book - listed on amazon."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well I haven't done as much decluttering as planned today, got distracted by the wedding. Awwww
I have though, decluttered item 3. Hoover - to boot sale.
I have also defrosted and cleaned out the freezer, and organised the two freezers so things are a bit more sensible.
Changed the bed, tidied the book piles, and put a few bits out of the way.
Found the suncream I had been searching for the other day to no avail so had purchased some more . I'll probably bin it though as I think it's a couple of years old now, so it's probably had it's day."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
