:mad::mad: Just got my first negative on ebay from some numpty buyer who says I misled them about the size of the book they bought from me. Not sure how, because there was a photo which to me shows it is not very big. The biggest clue surely would be the fact that the book sold for £1.99 including postage. It's hardly going to be huge at that price!:mad::mad:
I wouldn't even mind too much but they haven't even bothered to contact me.
Really fed up at the momentI think everything is just getting to me right now.

Hi Jwil
thank you for the advice about carboot.
Grr! to bad feedback being received. Truly is annoying whether you are having a good day or no.
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the mo. ((hugs))
I was wanting to say again thank you for the 'pay off £x challenge thread'. These last few weeks i have been realising how much this thread as helped me to focus on what debt i have and this helps with organising payments and overpayments and really thinking about the money i am spending and whether what i am buying is really necessary.

Aww thanks DDFW, it is helping me to keep focussed too so it really helps!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I'm not doing very well with paying down my credit card this month. That's partly due to my car boot purchase on Sunday though. For months, I have been planning to get a particular chair when the extension is cleared, which will then be put in there and means I can sit very comfortably in the sun and read a book. The chair is £300 new, so it was going to be a while before I got it.
Well on Sunday, at the boot sale, we saw the exact same chair, brand new. Someone we vaguely know was selling it, but he had already sold it by the time we saw it. We asked him who he'd sold it to, and he said it was a trader. DH knew which trader he was talking about, and we saw him just as we were about to leave. So DH went up to him and offered straight out, £120 for the chair (we knew what he had paid for it, and this was a decent profit for him). Luckily for us the trader said yes, so we came home very happy with the exact chair I had been planning on getting, for almost 1/3rd of the price! :T
That is £120 which should have been paid off my CC, but I couldn't resist that. It should now encourage us to get the extension cleared, as I want to use my new chair!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've sold a book on amazon this morning, so that's £3.10 to my total. That is the first book that I've sold for ages on there!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Just had a very interesting call from Santander regarding my loan complaint (which I was just about to go to the FSA as they had not responded and it was over 8 weeks).
They have told me that the missed payment will be removed from my credit report and that will show up in 24 hours, and even better, I asked for £50 compensation to cover me for the hassle they put me through, well, the chap told me they are going to send me £100! Woo hoo! I'm very happy with that, but won't believe it til I see it. :j:j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Woohoo! On getting your new chair and for a brilliant bargaintastic price too! When you see something like that it is worth getting as you are saving money in the long run i think. Plus with the book sale and compensation its almost been paid for :j:j:j
Must admit I bought 2 new things at the carbootThey were new with tags / boxed
- 1 was a pair of shoes in the style i had been looking for - mine had to be thrown away as they had been worn to death! And a brand new top - £1
Am now a little disappointed i don't have things ready for another carboot but am letting people know i'm collecting things together again in case they are having a clear out
Am looking to put a list of ideas together on how to raise funds next month - basically i want to have paid cc1 off and then spend May reducing cc2 - aiming to reduce it by £1000 so it will be a list of ideas to make money as in: 1. Carboot £50, 2. E-bay £50 if that makes sense - i won't be doing this until the start of May but it'd be great if we could pool ideasCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Thanks DDFW, I'm so pleased with the chair.
I do need to get focussed again though on the CC, got to try and get this cleared.
We have been booting regularly for years, but yesterday we managed to fill the van again with stuff we have been clearing out. We've still got a long way to go, but it's nice in a way to know that there's still plenty of options for raising cash.
My book piles are still increasing faster than I can read them as well, so I've still got money making opportunities there.
I do need to think of other ones though. It would be great to be knocking £1000 a month from my debts."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I'm really looking forward to the weekend. Slept very well last night (for me) and really didn't want to get up this morning.
I'm meeting some friends for lunch tomorrow which will be really nice and I'm looking forward to it, but part of me is annoyed because it is interfering with my house clearing and selling time. It means we cannot go and sell at the Saturday afternoon car boot we have been doing.
How sad am I?:D:cool:

I've just started a NPB for someone on ebay. They bid on 4 books last weekend at the last minute and haven't paid yet despite having been active on ebay.
What I didn't realise is that I had to open a case for each individual item! If they do not pay, they will get 4 strikes against them and effectively be blocked from buying anything from most sellers on ebay . I've got my settings to block anyone with 2 strikes from bidding as do most other people I know.
They've got hundreds of feedback so they should know better."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
