Forgot to add - I sold a DVD box set on Amazon today, so £6.25 to add to my total :j
I also contacted my catalogue and asked them to reduce my credit limit by £4500  so that will help reduce my available credit. They've put it up about 3 times this year, I don't need that!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I'm a long term lurker on many of the challenges, but don't tend to take part in them. To ensure I keep my focus, I have started a new one and my target is to reduce my debts by £14,000 next year. That will get me to where I want to be. If you want to join in please do, everyone can set their own target. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2923958
I will still be here though, this will be my main focus for my inane ramblings and selling and stuff :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've updated my signature with how things are at the moment. It should go down some more soon as I haven't paid everything off yet. The figure in brackets is my 'official' debt which shows on my credit record. This is what I want to get down to £20,000 by next Christmas.
Scary, but it should be all downhill from here."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well done on getting organised. Which template site are you using out of curiosity?
I am using Seller Source Book - it costs money, but only just over a fiver a month. I will cancel if I run out of things to sell, but I have to say it's made life way easier. The listings look good as well - it allows me to show lots of photos of the clothes in the listing itself with comments underneath. Hosting photos is included and you can choose the format the photos are presented, how big they should be etc. You can schedule listings to start at a specific time and then wander off and it'll list them when the time comes. I'm very impressed with it I must say. Now I finally have all the current batch of clothes listed on ebay - 7 lots - and also a few old audio programmes. :TI really need to get sorted with what needs doing for Christmas. First priority - Christmas cards. I don't send many, but need to get them done, especially the one to my Canadian relatives which I haven't sent yet and presume the last posting date was ages ago
Yup, that was FridayBut a card will still probably get there on time, those last posting dates are very cautious.
I am making cards again this year, got 48 photos printed for just over 2 quid from a website, and have bought the card etc. It's more expensive than buying cards of course, but I enjoy it.0 -

Yes, but you've taken action and you must be feeling better about it all. A new plan for a new year - well done you and the very best of luck with it all. You can do it, jwil.
I would love to reduce my credit card debt to zero in 2011 - that's a large whack of money and I've no real idea how I'm going to do it. Am thinking of starting my own diary, not sure yet.0 -

Thanks for that I might have a look. I've still got loads to sell.
Well done on the listings! :Tpeaceandfreedom wrote: »Yup, that was FridayBut a card will still probably get there on time, those last posting dates are very cautious.

Oops, though that's later than I thought it would be. I'd better get it in the post today or tomorrow before the snow hits the UK again.
Making cards may be more expensive, but they are much nicer than shop bought ones."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

I do feel better about it now, and today seeing a little drop in figures is good too.
I have no idea how I'm going to make my target either, but I'm going to give it a good shot! Do start a diary, I love reading them"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi Jwil and everyone else
Can I check with the challenge is it starting from 1st January or anything that we pay from now until end of next year?
SorryShould have popped this on your challenge really but have been shattered this week, just so tired and as usual such a lot to do.
I might have mentioned before but I can really identify with some of your posts as it sounds like we have some things in common - hope you don't mind me saying soMy OH has absolutely no debt and likes to go out and about and do things and I feel like I am holding him/us back as the reality is that alot of what he wants to do will cost money - be it petrol, drinks etc. and I have no money at all for treats
, The amounts that you and I owe *I think* are about the same and then I read your post yesterday about re-mortgaging in 2012 which is when I will be doing mine too  Eep!
Great challenge you have set up and will be good with us all sharing ideas and cheering each other on.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hi DDFW, as far as I'm concerned the challenge started from the day I set it up. I've counted my first payments towards it already. If you want to wait until it is actually 2011 though, that's fine by me.
It does sound like we have a lot in common - I do feel guilty about my debt, as there is so much we would like to do but we can't until I am debt free. I don't like those extra pennies that we spend when we go out, but equally my DH cannot do nothing just because I don't want to spend any money!
Remortgaging makes me nervous, so it's what's going to keep me focussed this year I think."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've redeemed another £5 from bingoport today so pleased with that. I'm 100 points away from a £10 amazon voucher for one of the survey sites, so I'm hoping I'll get a couple more surveys soon.
My 99p sale on ebay hasn't paid up, but it looks like they've won and paid for something since. I'm going to give them til tomorrow and then do the NPB on them. It's so annoying "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
