I'm worrying a bit this morning as things seem to be getting a bit out of control. There's a lot going on at the moment, and I can't afford it all.
I'm not up to date with my private loan and that is bothering me even though it is not affecting my credit record. I have been spending for Christmas, not too much, but it all adds up. I'm nearly done there though. I've got MOT and car insurance due soon, and am stressing about that too.
I'm totally fed up with spending all my time on the computer - yesterday my plan not to failed as I spent the whole time faffing with ebay and amazon stuff. The house is annoying me as it feels filthy and like a complete pit. It is too cluttered and I'm not getting the time to do stuff.
Grrrr!!!!
Sorry about the rant, just wanted to get that off my chest!
I think the rest of the year will be spent trying to get back on track and up to date, then next year I will hopefully just see those figures going down every month!
I long for the day when my wages last the month! At the moment I feel like I'm just robbing Peter to pay Paul and this needs to stop. I want to cocoon myself away for a few months and do nothing, but that's not going to happen.
Hope everyone else is ok."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Well done for sales on ebay everyone. Im having a clear out so will possibly find something!
That's funny peaceandfreedom about you not wanting Xmas on credit this year. That's just what I posted in my diary. It could be the first year in a long time that it has not been on credit.
Same here, Isy
Still, I'm trying to change and I'm determined this year to end upwith lower debt at the end of December than I had at the beginning of it. It's possible, just need to be more resourceful.0 -

Have you shopped around for cheaper car insurance (one of my next jobs) - and if you change insurance using Quidco or suchlike, you'll get cashback as well. And pay by monthly direct debit -eases the pain.I'm totally fed up with spending all my time on the computer - yesterday my plan not to failed as I spent the whole time faffing with ebay and amazon stuff. It can be disheartening. Maybe you could set aside one day of the weekend for computery stuff and another day for just house stuff - I know you tried that this weekend, but try again, it might work.I long for the day when my wages last the month! I know that feeling so well, both the robbing Peter to pay Paul and the cocoon-feeling. Sometimes, I just want everyone and everything to just go away for a while. And I've spent so many hours on Excel, moving bits of money around, trying to survive another month. It can be soul-destroying.
For me, I think it's a pattern I adopted when I was quite young and I never quite managed to take myself in hand. I am really really trying now because in another 20 years or so, I'll be retiring and at the rate I'm going, I'll be on the breadline.
Is your OH helpful with the money-saving / doing stuff around the house. Mine is no use at all on either count.0 -

I will shop around when I get my renewal quote. I always do, but last year didn't bother as I was not well. What I didn't realise was, they added a £500 excess to the policy which I didn't have before. 2 weeks later I was in an accident, so not only had an awful experience with the garage they used, had to fork out the excess too! I will never use them again. I am paying by monthly DD at the moment, I would prefer to pay in one go though, but it will be monthly again this year.
I'm going to try and have a couple of quiet weekends to get on a bit. I've been getting up earlier to try and get some computer stuff done before work, so I'm not on there all evening too. That's helping.
My OH is a sweetie, but he doesn't get the moneysaving or the house. He doesn't have any debts, and loaned me some of his inheritance to pay off some of mine - I hate it, he doesn't mind, but I'd rather owe a bank than him. He also doesn't like being 'stuck' in the house at weekends, he likes to go out and about and do stuff. I think he's starting to get the message that I want to get this debt paid off more than anything else, but it's a tough one!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
I think I need to raise an extra £1500 to get back on track. New target for next month!
I'll have to work out the additions for this month's target - I've got a few things to add."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
We had a very MSE dinner tonight - toad in the hole with mixed veg and gravy. Cost less than £1 for the whole thing! 39p for whoopsied sausages, 8p for batter mix (yes I'm THAT lazy
), approx 10p for an egg, approx 20p for the veg (frozen), and maybe 20p for the gravy. :j I should make the effort to do things like that more often!

Right - I have to add £46 ebay sales, £2.23 amazon sales, £20 in survey cash ins and that's all I can think of at the moment! That's another £68.23 towards the total, not too bad. I'll have to up the game though next month if I want to do £1500."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

You're doing very well.
How did you get sausages for 39p, that's amazing. Good MSE dinner there, jwil.
My Lithuanian ebay buyer got his item OK and gave me excellent feedback, so all is good. Have loads more stuff to ebay. My 13-yr-old daughter has dumped in my room two large binbags of clothes that can be ebayed - they are mostly good stuff in good nick - it's all the photographing and listing that puts me off. I'm going to sell them in large bundles of 30 items or so.
Had to start a UPI process on my bidder that never paid, still no contact, we'll see what happens.
Lots of work on at the moment too, will actually have to get up early in the morning even though it's half-term. Happy though, it's good to be busy and I soooo need the money.0 -

They were reduced in Morrisons, so was pleased with those!
Glad your buyer got their item ok, it's such a relief when that happens!
The thing which gets me most about ebay is the photoing - I really hate that. I need to get some more photos done so I can list more.
Hoping to get a load more on ebay tonight or tomorrow so we shall see.
Good luck with listing your DDs clothing!
It's great that you've got a lot of work on at the moment, even if it does mean you can't have a lie in!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
To raise my £1500 I think I need to sell 500 items. I would say that on average I make £3 per item that I'm selling (sometimes more, but I've got huge quantities of low value stuff). That is a huge task. I'm selling 1 item at the moment, so only 499 to go
. Out of the stuff I've already got on ebay I might sell 20 items I reckon, so down to 477, which is approx 120 items per week:eek:. That's probably doable, I certainly have that much stuff, but whether I have the inclination to do it is another thing.
Of course - it's unlikely that everything I list will sell, so need to still come up with more.
Phew, it's going to be a challenge!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0
