Yuck, feeling rough today, got a splitting headache.

Got loads to do at work so best get on with it and get off here!

DH was complaining the other day that all he sees of me these days is the back of my head as I'm always on the computer, so I've tried to limit myself a bit the last couple of days, have also been worrying a bit about work, so I haven't popped in to many diaries recently, sorry!

Will try and get back on over the weekend and catch up.

    Hope everyone is well!

Another £11 of ebay sales, and £3.05 from an amazon sale to report. Very pleased with that. I've got a load more going out tomorrow night, the relisted books, and only one has a bid so far, so not expecting huge things there. It would be nice to get a couple more sold though. It's nice to see them trickling out of the door!

I've been tidying through today. This house is so minging. There's so much clutter it's really difficult to clean so everything gets dusty. It really annoys me, so is another motivation for getting rid of all this stuff!

DH is out on his bike, so I might whack a few items into Turbolister ready for tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is well!

    Hiya,

You are right about the clutter - it is very hard to clean or even be bothered to try to clean when the place is full of stuff (I'm thinking of our 'dining-room' here in particular). You'll feel so much lighter when everything is gone.

As for me (copies Jwil's drum-roll) - I have made over £176 of sales on ebay today - 4 of my items sold. Yippee! One of those was quite expensive, so next week's haul will be way way lower. I also won a whole heap of Toy Story 3 goodies from entering a comp on the back of a Weetabix pack. They will be appearing on ebay soon as well. It's all good.

Off to do the ironing while watching Downton Abbey. :A

Wow, well done on the sales, that is brilliant! :T:T

Well done on the competition win too. That sounds great. Have you got a Woody (oo err, a Toy Story 3 one, that is :D)? I want to get one for my niece for Christmas. One of the soft body ones, with the ring pull that makes them talk?

I will catch up with everyone soon properly, have been down about work and stuff. Fell off the no spending wagon too. Oops.

Have been in depressing meetings today, the likelihood is a pay cut, followed by potential redundancy. Marvellous. The 'good' news is, I've probably got a year before redundancy may rear it's head. So that's a year to clear as much debt as poss, with a pay cut.

Don't know how I'm going to do that. Oh, and the redundancy package is being cut too, so even better news there.

There are however, many people in a worse situation than me, and some will be notified that they will be made redundant between 22nd and 25th December, leaving by 31st Jan. Happy Christmas to them! It really stinks.

    Hope everyone is well.

  • Sorry to hear about redundancies at your work jwil - we're going through a similar thing at my work too. I'm safe from this round (I say round because I think there will be more) but it doesn't make for a nice atmosphere in the office.

I hope things get better for you, and I'm sure you'll find lots of ways to keep money saving - just look at your ebaying totals!
    Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAID
    TAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18

'Fraid not. One of the prizes is a plush toy but it's only a little one and I don't think it does anything. I haven't got that yet because some of the prizes were not available. I've got stuff like a rucksack, notebook, activity set etc. Pity my kids are all too old for this sort of thing.

As for ebay, the buyer for my big-ticket item hasn't paid yet - he did say it'd take him a few days but I'm kind of keen for him to get on with it now!

Gosh, it's all grim grim grim isn't? But you've got a year's stay of execution and who knows what might happen by then. Meanwhile, you are whittling away at the debts and you'll be in a much better position by then - we all will (get me and my new-found optimism :D).

It's fine to feel down now and then you know, you can't be cheerful all the time. The colder weather and dark evenings don't help either - I always think the day the clocks go back is the most depressing day of the year. :(

I'm not really a winter person - I like to hibernate if possible. I love Christmas but once that's over I want it to be the end of March. This winter I'm going to try to enjoy the season more - get out there on my bike, go for long walks, enjoy the lovely countryside, stop being a misery-guts. Will it work - don't know, but it's worth a try.

I'm self-employed so no-one can make me redundant but equally my income is very erratic and totally down to me. I like it though. I had a 'proper' job for a while, and how I hated it. Having to ask someone if I can have a day off, and having a boss (or several of them) just doesn't suit me. That's the 'freedom' part of my name. The 'peace' is what I'll have when I've paid off my debts. :)

Ah, well, it was worth a try. Hope your buyer pays up soon! I've got one who hasn't paid again, really annoying! The weird thing is, they left glowing feedback for me from another item they bought from me yesterday, so I know they've been on!
