Glad you had a good night last night DDFW, and lots of laughs and compliments is always good!
Shepherds pie - it's a very basic recipe, but good comfort food. It is freezable.
I used 500g mince (lamb or beef work fine), a couple of garlic cloves, one or two onions, some frozen mixed veg, gravy and mashed potato.
Just fry up the onion and garlic, add the mince, when that's cooked through add the frozen mixed veg, heat that through as well, and then make up around 1/2 pt gravy (I just use bisto granules), add to that some soy sauce and worcester sauce to taste (helps give it a bit of a tang), stir it in to the mince mixture and simmer for a while to let it thicken (make the gravy nice and thick to start with). Pop it in a dish and top with mashed potato. Put it in the oven for a bit to crisp the top up and that's it!
Sometimes I'll put in a tin of baked beans rather than the mixed veg and that works well too. You can always make it a bit different and top it with mashed swede and carrot as an alternative."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I finally managed to force myself to do some listing. I've put 4 new items on my account, and 29 on DH's. I've also relisted everything that was on there, which took me a bit over the 100 items, but I've paid a lot less than I would if I relisted normally.
I've sold a few items on ebay tonight, which is a total of £20.96. I am VERY pleased with that, as it is the books that I listed last weekend which were the duplicates out of the job lot I bought. Just the ones I have sold tonight have given me my money back on what I spent on them :j:j Considering I kept most of them, and one of my family members wants a couple of them too, that is great stuff! I've relisted the ones that didn't sell too so there's still hope for a bit more."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". peaceandfreedom - well done on your carboot :T:T:T - i had to laugh though about people asking to pay less for things when they are a totally bargainous price anyways
You just wouldn't believe the way some people behave. They ask a price, I say the price and they just walk off without comment. Some of the women in particular (forgive me for stereotyping but it's mainly the East Europeans) can really be rather aggressive in their body language and very hard in their manner. But as I say, most people are lovely and always up for a chat.Right. Multiquoting - click on the pink and yellow balloon button at the bottom of the posts you want to quote (you can only do 3 at a time I think) Then scroll down to the bottom and click on 'post reply'. You should then be able to see each of the posts you want to quote from.
Do you know, I didn't know how to do that! Glad you explained it, Jwil, I decided to try it out straight away.:D :beer:If you want to break up someone's post to comment on individual bits - click on 'quote' and then you'll see there are html codes at the start and end of the message in square brackets. You need to copy and paste these codes into each section you want to quote. So the one that is at the beginning is at the start of each bit you want to comment on, and the one at the end is at the end of each little bit. Does that make any sense? There may be a quicker way of doing it, but that's how I do it.
That's the way I do it as well, I don't think there's a quicker way. Works for me. The multi-quote thing is a new one on me though, see I've learned something today.0 -

Glad to be of assistance. I know how to do it, I still hardly ever use it though!
Not much to report today really. My loan payment has come out but that's about all.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
Oh, I forgot to mention the other day, I've received a freebie book to review. Always welcome in my house"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I have nothing to report again really. Everything just seems to be plodding along, and it seems to be ages before my ebay sales end.
I've been really busy the last couple of days so not had a chance to see how things are this month, or do anything to raise some extra cash. Better get on with it I suppose!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Actually, I've just realised - I'm missing the PADing! It just seems that everything moves so much more quickly when I make a small payment each day. Whereas just at the moment, it's all really dragging.
I really can't justify it until I am back on track though, so need to earn some more money.
DH wants to go away soon as well, and I could really do without it, but it would be nice to get away, and it's a trip we've already put off for about 2 years."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I agree with the PADs - i just cannot do it as i have £0 and since using my savings cushion to pay off the big debt i am really feeling how i have nothing to fall back onThis should motivate me to list on e-bay - but its not so much the listing thats the problem but having items to sell
Ooh where are you looking to go to jwil?A break is always good - i do feel re-energised after i've been away and as OH doesn't know about my bills our trips are just as frequent as ever - which is both

We are hoping to go off to bonnie Scotland . Will be lovely to go, but it is so expensive to get over there. I must get on with raising the funds to go though.
Hope you have a good day, it's pretty chilly out there as well. I even put the heating on yesterday "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Oooh, your holidays sounds lovely (but will be bl**dy cold!). Speaking of cold, it is very chilly these days. Resisted putting on the heating today but I did wear fingerless gloves at work.0
